[edit]Please feel free to courtesy blank attack pages. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 22:48, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- Meaning delete the content in the article, leaving just a speedy template at the top?--Cheers, Mazeau (talk) 22:49, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- Indeed. It hides the offending content from view. The deleting admin can always look in the history to see what it's about. Cheers, Dlohcierekim 22:51, 2 February 2009 (UTC)
- Fair enough. Thanks! Cheers, Mazeau (talk) 22:59, 2 February 2009 (UTC)

Re: Ali Davani
[edit]Hi, I really don't care about a speedy deletion of the article on Ali Davani. I just moved it out of the disambiguation page on Davani (because it certainly didn't belong there), thinking that if someone really cared about the material on Ali Davani, they would clean it up, NPOVize it, etc. If you really feel it's speedy delete-worthy, by all means.
–jonsafari (talk) 03:25, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
- I was just thinking that it doesn't agree with WP:NOTE as far as I can see. There are also a lot of unexplained names and references in there that I don't think are very useful. Don't take it to offense, thanks for your sifting though. Cheers, Mazeau (talk) 03:28, 3 February 2009 (UTC)
Rollback
[edit]I have granted rollback rights to your account; the reason for this is that after a review of some of your contributions, I believe I can trust you to use rollback correctly by using it for its intended usage of reverting vandalism, and that you will not abuse it by reverting good-faith edits or to revert-war. For information on rollback, see Wikipedia:New admin school/Rollback and Wikipedia:Rollback feature. If you do not want rollback, just let me know, and I'll remove it. Good luck and thanks. –Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 04:20, 3 February 2009 (UTC)

Learn the rules
[edit]If a player plays a game for a Scottish First Division (or SPL) club, in the league or cup, then the article is valid.
Salty1984 (talk) 17:29, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- Where does it say that in Wikipedia "Rules"? Because as far as I'm concerned you have no references to even prove that he's in the club. Cheers, Mazeau (talk) 17:41, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
I don't need to provide a reference, it's a fact as I was at the game, but since you don't believe it check the reference that is there now and look on our official site if you want confirmation that he is at the club Salty1984 (talk) 20:42, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- Actually you did need to provide a reference. It seems like its YOU who should "learn the rules."
- "I was there" means nothing on Wikipedia, ok? Anyone can say that, and anyone could lie about it. And it seems like you still have a lot to learn because your talk page is filled with notability issues.
- Ask an admin. Learn how to use Wikipedia before you tell someone else, especially one more experienced, to do so. Cheers, Mazeau (talk) 22:03, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
Altered Speedy Deletion rationale: BayouShooter
[edit]Hello Mazeau, and thanks for your work patrolling new changes. I am just informing you that I have deleted a page you tagged (BayouShooter) under a criterion different from the one your provided, which was inappropriate or incorrect. CSD criteria are narrow and specific to protect the encyclopedia, and the process is more effective if the correct deletion rationale is supplied. Consider reviewing the criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions or problems, please let me know. Thanks again! decltype (talk) 22:52, 15 August 2009 (UTC)
- That's fine, my apologies. Just out of curiosity though, what did I tag it as, and what did you change it to? Cheers, Mazeau (talk) 00:54, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
I refer to this edit. This is a redirect page and redirects don't require references. TerriersFan (talk) 16:54, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, well I added that before it was turned into a redirect; it used to be it's own article Cheers, Mazeau (talk) 17:15, 16 August 2009 (UTC)
Sorry
[edit]I just wanted you know that I'm sorry for reporting you to WP:AIV. I reported the wrong user. My PC was messing up and I was having a bad day. You did nothing wrong. Well keep up the good work.--David - (Wikipedia Vandal Fighter). 17:16, 19 August 2009 (UTC)
- No worries, I was out of town anyway. Has my name been cleared? Cheers, Mazeau (talk) 00:40, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
Look again at ArcCatalog
[edit]Please note the talk page on ArcCatalog. Someone even removed my "hangon" tag, because it is a clearly necessary article, but I put it back up since it hasn't been resolved. Yet another person removed it, and so I'm keeping it down. Please make a note on the ArcCatalog talk page if there is still any disagreement on this.
NittyG (talk) 03:52, 21 August 2009 (UTC)
What is going on with Northampton Saints cricket club?
[edit]This morning the article (which apparently you nominated as a candidate for deletion) was there, and I placed a hangon tag with a justification of why it should remain. I looked again a couple of hours later and the article has been deleted, with apparently no reference to the justification which I made. Can you explain what has happened? Asnac (talk) 11:02, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
- I do not have the power to delete any article on Wikipedia; only the admins do. It clearly states on both the delete and hangon tags that the page may still be deleted if the admins deem it appropriate. This is probably what happened to your article. Simply putting your justification with hangon does not make it immortal to being deleted. Obviously, if an admin disagrees with your justification, they would go ahead and delete it anyway. They do not have to refer to your justification either. Cheers, Mazeau (talk) 16:02, 23 August 2009 (UTC)
Thanks, that is clear. So -- if I redo the article (and what a hassle) but with more obvious reasons to justify its place in Wikipedia, what will happen - will it automatically be deleted?Asnac (talk) 17:16, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
- If you write it the exact same way again, yes. But if you improve the article itself to Wikipedia standards, it will be allowed to stay. I do not remember the exact reason I tagged your particular article (I look over dozens on a given day), but I did for a reason. An since the admin agreed with me, it is a valid reason. If you tell me what the tag I put said, I can give to some advice to help it stay here. (Also, if you want, you can ask the admin who deleted your article to email you a copy of the deleted article so that you can refer back to it, but do not re post it as is because that is under violation of "recreating deleted materials" and may get you a warning notice) Cheers, Mazeau (talk) 17:30, 25 August 2009 (UTC)

Replaceable fair use Image:Barrage home.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Barrage home.jpg. I noticed the description page specifies that the media is being used under a claim of fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first non-free content criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed media could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this media is not replaceable, please:
- Go to the media description page and edit it to add
{{di-replaceable fair use disputed}}
, without deleting the original replaceable fair use template. - On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.
Alternatively, you can also choose to replace this non-free media by finding freely licensed media of the same subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or similar) media under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.
If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our non-free content criteria. You can find a list of description pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that even if you follow steps 1 and 2 above, non-free media which could be replaced by freely licensed alternatives will be deleted 2 days after this notification (7 days if uploaded before 13 July 2006), per our non-free content policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Aspects (talk) 23:03, 22 October 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Günter Pilz
[edit]Hello Mazeau. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Günter Pilz, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Being a professor makes subject ineligible for A7 / use WP:PROD or WP:AFD instead. Thank you. — Malik Shabazz Talk/Stalk 03:56, 7 September 2010 (UTC)
Speedy deletion declined: Blackvoices.com
[edit]Hello Mazeau. I am just letting you know that I declined the speedy deletion of Blackvoices.com, a page you tagged for speedy deletion, because of the following concern: Any forum with a claim of over a million members is not suitable for A7 as there is a clear argument for notability, even if it has not been unambiguously verified or detailed. Thank you. Fæ (talk) 06:44, 12 August 2011 (UTC)

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. New deal for page patrollers
[edit]Hi Mazeau,
In order to better control the quality of new pages, keep out the spam, and welcome the genuine newbies, the current system we introduced in 2011 is being updated and improved. The documentation and tutorials have also been revised and given a facelift. Most importantly a new user group New Page Reviewer has been created.
Under the new rule, you may find that you are temporarily unable to mark new pages as reviewed. However, this is nothing to worry about - most current experienced patrollers are being accorded the the new right without the need to apply, and if you have significant previous experience of patrolling new pages, we strongly encourage you to apply for the new right as soon as possible - we need all the help we can get, and we are now providing a dynamic, supportive environment for your work.
Find out more about this exiting new user right now at New Page Reviewers and be sure to read the new tutorial before applying. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 04:29, 13 November 2016 (UTC)
