A tag has been placed on Sproose, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of Sproose and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Adolphus79 (talk) 04:06, 10 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of interest on the Sproose article[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. Dreamyshade (talk) 06:55, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for asking about what you can do to improve the Sproose article. The main problem is that, as a person who works for the company, you should not have started the article at all. :) Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest, which explains why Wikipedia discourages that kind of editing. You're welcome to write on the article's discussion page (Talk:Sproose) to request changes, and if you're careful to stay neutral, you can make minor uncontroversial improvements - like formatting, reverting vandalism, or factual updates - to your company page (see this answer for details), but you'll want to avoid making major changes. It's also good to disclose your associations on your user page (User:Mbelaunde). Dreamyshade (talk) 19:49, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The article will need somebody else to clean it up - mostly making sure that the facts in the article are verifiable in reliable third-party sources (especially the parts about people - see Wikipedia:Biographies of living persons), cutting out parts that don't belong in the article, improving formatting, etc. You'll have to wait for another person to do that. I'll probably work on it a little bit, just since I already know about it. Dreamyshade (talk) 22:48, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Also, here are a couple of friendly tips: when you write on a talk page, please add your comments to the bottom of the page (see here for details). That helps keep the page organized chronologically. Also, please remember to sign your posts on talk pages. Thanks! Dreamyshade (talk) 22:48, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, there's a guideline called Wikipedia:Please do not bite the newcomers. :) Editing is fun, but there are a fair number of rules. You might want to read Wikipedia:Five pillars and Wikipedia:Simplified ruleset. I've already worked on the article some; see the article history for explanations. If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sproose requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about an organization or company, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 22:20, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]

The article Sproose has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

puffery article written by COI editor; company no longer exists

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 22:23, 5 January 2014 (UTC)[reply]
