If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Mark Borchelt requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Notes[edit]

One, I moved it to User:Mborchelt/Mark Borchelt. I'd advise reading WP:ATHLETE and WP:RS (which applies to all articles). Two, I'd advise reading WP:COI, WP:SPAM, WP:NPOV and WP:FAKEARTICLE about your user page. (I'm assuming that's you...) While athletes (and especially pro footballers) get articles quite easily, pro photographers have to show a lot more than one professional engagement to get an article. Personally, I think the standard for footballers is way too low, but that's how it is. Probably too many football fans here. The reason I'm saying this is that the user page is for telling us a bit about yourself (identifying yourself is optional - I maintain anonymity). Yours reads like an article, but it would never pass the speedy deletion stage. This is where FAKEARTICLE comes in - we're not saying it's not true, but a user page isn't supposed to look like an article. Not easy to explain. (The other policies are in case you decide to launch it into article space. Not recommended.) Any queries, you can message me or most other admins and regular editors. Some are grumps - try another if you find one. Not all of us know everything about this place - I couldn't tell you how to upload a picture, for example. OK? Getting the picture? Over to you. A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Mborchelt/Mark Borchelt, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
