I have removed the paragraph that you added because it was entirely supported by references citing forums. Forums are not permitted as refs on Wikipedia, as explained at WP:SPS. To put this information back in you need to cite a reliable source. Likewise I have removed spec data that you added that contradicts or is not supported by the EAA ref cited. Again to change or add specs you must cite a reliable ref as explained art WP:V. Basically Wikipedia is not a blog where anyone can add anything they want to an article, it is an encyclopedia that has criteria for reliability for information to be included.

I think you should probably also have a read of our Conflict of Interest rules for contributors as well. - Ahunt (talk) 20:24, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Conflict of Interest Disclosure: Thank you Ahunt for providing clarifying guidelines for editing. Wikipedia has improved and formalized many things since I last could make contributions... this is a good thing.

With regard to edits made on the Synergy Aircraft page, I hold multiple conflicts of interest. I will continue to try to provide factual and verifiable corrections, but many authoritative statements written or stated by the designer are found in references that are blocked. YouTube recordings of John McGinnis speaking at Oshkosh, for example, are blocked, as are links to forums where he writes extensively.

It is my authoritative understanding that the aircraft he is building belongs to him and is not yet a product of his company Synergy Aircraft, although they are a licensee of his IP.

Under law, and in fact, the builder is the manufacturer of an experimental-amateur built aircraft, thus an entry to the contrary poses potential harm to Mr. McGinnis' interest at the point when his type certificate is issued. McGinnis is the builder.

I welcome and invite assistance in handling these matters in full accord with the highest ethical principles. Thank you again. Mc2design (talk) 07:55, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your information here. As per WP:COI then I would suggest you post suggested changes for the article on its talk page Talk:Synergy Aircraft Synergy. In turn I will commit to responding quickly to your posts there and incorporating the suggestions that comply with Wiki policy and sourcing requirements into the article. The real sticking point is the use of reliable sources, as WP:SPS does not allow citations from forum posts and such. If McGinnis or the company start making more conventional press releases or other statements these can certainly be cited.
It is probably also worth pointing out that we don't normally keep articles about aircraft that haven't been flown yet and which are built by new manufacturers that don't have other designs flying. This is outlined at Wikipedia:WikiProject Aircraft/Notability. The reason for that is to prevent spamming and promotion and also because 99% of projects in that category never get competed. We have a WikiProject Aircraft consensus to retain this article for now, but if the project doesn't proceed it may get sent for deletion review. - Ahunt (talk) 12:34, 2 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
