Error in drawing for Oxidation state
[edit]Please have a look at your figure in Oxidation state#Balancing redox. The supposed acetic acid product is missing an oxygen, so you have actually drawn acetaldehyde on both sides of the equation. I would fix it myself, but I don't have the software required for this drawing. Dirac66 (talk) 15:24, 4 December 2017 (UTC)

The file File:2nd ammonium ion diagram.jpg has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Orphaned file consisting of text and numbers. Can be regenerated if necessary. Otherwise no encyclopedic purpose.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the file's talk page.
Please consider addressing the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated files}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and files for discussion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Ajpolino (talk) 04:25, 27 July 2018 (UTC)

Main, major, historic, or natural oxidation states of an element?
[edit]Prof. McArdle: I don't know if you are still active here, but I saw that you did much of the work for oxidation state. I'm working to improve the presentation and structure of the data for the list of oxidation states used in the article's List section and the element pages "oxidation state" entry.
These currently highlight "main" oxidation states in bold, but I am unclear on the criteria. My inclination would be to consider those oxidation states corresponding to naturally occurring oxides of each element as the "main" ones. Please let me know if you have an suggestions or references on this point.
