Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Mcudos. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Talk:Aline Griffith, Countess of Romanones, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Chris Troutman (talk) 15:15, 8 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Chris: I guess this is where I'm suppose to answer you...I'm still in the process of figuring everything out. I have done a brief userpage so you can see that I am working for the Aline Countess of Romanones Foundation. I have been with the Countess 3 years before her death last December. All of the changes are exact and what I did eliminate, were references that either didn't show up in internet, or were in Spanish or didn't relate directly to the text. The way her page is/was is very sensationalistic. She has documented her real life extraordinarily well but I will eliminate the paragraphs which refer to her awards, etc., until I have the corresponding documents uploaded in her website to corroborate these.

I refer to her publications because these are related to her life as a writer. Otherwise I have turned around the sensationalism to a more factual text. But if I could answer your queries better then tell me how. I tried doing this directly on your talk page but I couldn't.

Thank you

Hello Chris

I wanted to tell you that I have eliminated the sentences for which I do not have the data required as of today.

And also you remarked that I took out the book The Earth rests lightly...it is the first version of her book The History of Pascualente. It had several title changes. The Earth rests lightly - An American in Spain - and The Story of Pascualete. Today the name is The History of Pascualente.

Thank you

Hi. Thanks for admitting your conflict of interest. You are, therefore, no longer permitted to edit the Aline Griffith, Countess of Romanones article. Wikipedia's reliability relies both on our policy of verifiability and our neutrality. Because of that, we turn away many editors who, although they know the material, are compromised by their relationship to the subject. From this point forward, if you'd like to suggest changes to the article you'll have to do so on the article's talk page. Chris Troutman (talk) 13:05, 10 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
