Conflicts of interest[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia. However, please do not add promotional material to articles or other Wikipedia pages, as you did to Contamination control. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" is strongly discouraged. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. Thank you. Adrian J. Hunter(talkcontribs) 05:07, 25 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article Controlled Environments Magazine, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
  4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:44, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop. If you continue to add promotional material to Wikipedia, as you did to cleanroom, you will be blocked from editing. --Orange Mike | Talk 17:47, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, you may not know that Wikipedia has a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Using different styles throughout the encyclopedia, as you did in Controlled Environments Magazine, makes it harder to read. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. We do not use or allow the insertion of, trademark and similar symbols. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:02, 28 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Signing your posts[edit]

Hi there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. If you can't type the tilde character, you should click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --Orange Mike | Talk 17:48, 27 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Page claimed to be advertisement; edits don't work[edit]

Hi Mcvpub,

Thanks for working on Controlled Environments Magazine. Your edits after my notice certainly improved the page. Subsequently, other editors further worked on the page and removed the advertisement message, as you can see if you click on the "History" tab at the top of the page while viewing the Controlled Environments Magazine article.

By the way, we normally don't include TM or (R) symbols in articles, as stated at Wikipedia:Manual of Style (trademarks). Flag icons are only used in certain circumstances, as described at Wikipedia:Manual of Style (icons).

Feel free to contact me for any reason, and all the best, Adrian J. Hunter(talkcontribs) 12:21, 29 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
