Please stop your disruptive editing.

If you continue to disrupt Wikipedia, as you did at Psychiatrist, you may be blocked from editing. comrade waddie96 (talk) 19:43, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I am clarifying, how am I supposed to go about clarifying inconsistencies or irrelevant matters which do not belong in a certain page and general mischaracterizations about professions. I am highly educated in this matter which is why I’m only editing mental health related pages.

1. There is no reason to have a breakdown of other professions on the psychologist page aside of psychiatrists because these are commonly confused professions by the general public. The current section I edited does not belong there, it has no relevance to the psychologist page. I redirected to the appropriate page which identifies and differentiates ALL mental health professions.

2. There was some language within the psychiatrist page, which is not needed. “Psychiatrists, unlike psychologists are medical doctors” I don’t see the necessity for this since we are not differentiating anything in that specific section, it has been stated that a psychiatrists is a physician and a medical doctor there is no reason to specify any other professions (eg: “unlike physician assistants or nurse practitioners” so why psychologists?) this language is not educational in nature and it’s motives are dubious. The other section I edited is the part where it reads “a psychiatrist usually works as the clinical leader of a multidisciplinary team” there’s no citation for this, a psychiatrist works within a multidisciplinary team, if one is the leader that’s specific to that situation. This particular section is attempting to mislead the public and aggrandize a profession above the rest. My editing was within logical boundaries.

Please advise how to edit the pages as to better serve in educating about these two professions. The current versions are simply inaccurate. Medpsy2027 (talk) 21:54, 24 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, American Academy of Clinical Psychology, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hello, I am a member of this organization it’s verifiable and has been around for nearly 30 years but does not currently have a Wikipedia page. Suggestions on how to proceed regarding this project? Medpsy2027 (talk) 16:47, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Medpsy2027! Your additions to Draft:American Academy of Clinical Psychology have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Please see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, please ask them here on this page, or leave a message on my talk page. Thank you. Storchy (talk) 15:57, 8 November 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello I am new to editing this is a good faith effort to create a Wikipedia for a well known organization. Should I paraphrase what this organization does instead of copying certain things directly? I am also attempting to cite my sources in references. Please I would appreciate the help.

A tag has been placed on Draft:American Academy of Clinical Psychology, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Without passing comment of the merits of inclusion of a Wikipedia article for the association that is the subject of this draft article, I have deleted it as both a copyright violation and as well as unambiguous advertising or promotion.
  • The draft's text commences with "The American Academy of Clinical Psychology (AACP) is a professional organization of clinical psychologists in the U.S. whose mission..."
  • The text on the banner image of the association's website is The American Academy of Clinical Psychology is a professional organization of clinical psychologists in the U.S. whose mission..."
The copyright violations have already been drawn to your attention. Without citations from sources independent from the association, I see no fault in its speedy deletion under either criteria.
