== Cellular Manufacturing page ==

Hi. Haven't logged into wikipedia for a while. Just found your request for feedback on your Cellular Manufacturing page. I can think of a few things to clarify and add, though I'm a but busy now so it might take me a few days to get around to it.

The most important things to add, in my opinion, would be:

  • the intended semi-autonomous nature of work cells to streamline management and quality control;
  • the possible use of Kanbans as an effective means of controlling work-flow between cells;
  • the important concept of modularity, both of products and of processes, as the key to the promised flexibility and efficacy of cell manufacturing systems;
  • the supplier-input-process-output-customer (SIPOC) approach to production analysis; and
  • to emphasise the fact that cellular manufacturing is an integral component of and holistic lean manufacturing system, and therefore will not be entirely effective without the other lean aspects such as total quality management, good metrics, product focused responsibility, etc.

I've got a few useful references too.

File copyright problem with File:Workcell.jpg[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Workcell.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. Chris G Bot (talk) 00:34, 6 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]
