Although I understand it is possible you own the copyright for that text, Wikipedia does not accept it with a simple "I am the owner, I give permission to Wikipedia to use it". There are several considerations you need to know. First, you need to release such text under the GFDL, which means anyone would be able to take it, change some words, and use it in his or her own site. You also need to put a notice in the site's page stating the information is available under such license, and that anyone can use it freely.

You can also mail the Foundation to grant us permission to use the text. However, I heavily suggest to just write the page with your own words, not using existing texts, and adding links that are used as references. Although it may take some more time, it is worth the effort considering Wikipedia wants free (as in freedom) content. Thanks for understanding. -- ReyBrujo 23:00, 11 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I have no problem doing the release and a lot of it is reworded. I took the "marketing" out of our PR letter and came up with this. I can reword it even more, as well.

When answering, please do it in my own talk page in the same section where you first edited, so that I am notified you have answer. I would still think it is better to just write it in your own words, unless you can add a note in the site stating that information is free under the GFDL (I must stress again that anyone would be able to use that text, even commercially). Also, add a note in the talk page (the "discussion" tab) of the article you are editing stating the content is to be freed in the near future, and put a note stating approximately the date (if such date is reached and there is no news about the release, the article could be deleted due copyvio). Also, consider reading Wikipedia:Neutral point of view, articles need to follow such policy. Advertisement is not permitted in Wikipedia, and if the article is found to be one, it will be deleted due our Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion.
