License tagging for Image:John Frusciante 2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:John Frusciante 2.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 18:06, 23 July 2006 (UTC)

I just saw that you inserted the image "John Frusciante 2.jpg" back into John Frusciante after I had deleted it. Cf. here. Rest assured that I did not delete the picture because I did not like it (or John). First, it is a good idea to discuss inclusions of pictures at a page's talk page, in this case Talk:John Frusciante. Secondly, you have already been notified that the picture has no copyright tag. Hence, it cannot be used on Wikipedia. The fact that you took the picture yourself, is not enough. You have to give away the copyrights before the image can be used. I know this can seem as annoying, but it is to protect the overall project. Hope you understand and will take time to settle the copyright issue, upload the picture again, and then suggest it for inclusion at John Frusciante. For now I will delete it again. As hopefully clear from the above, this is not in order to start edit warring.--HJ 18:26, 23 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. You uploaded one of these and User:Gilesbh06 uploaded another. They are clearly the same image - one in black and white and one in colour. Where do they come from? Did you take the photograph - if not - who did? They look like they were taken at the sound check as the stadium looks empty. Secretlondon 20:19, 31 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
