Speedy deletion of TheGeekMedia

[edit]

A tag has been placed on TheGeekMedia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia per CSD a7.

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag) and leave a note on the page's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. B1atv 00:22, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The page does not need deleted. This is a wikipedia article for a company, very similar to many other Wikipedia articles I have found. It contains the companies history, purpose, list of notable events and a list of affiliated websites and programs. Most other company pages show very similar articles. The deletion tag has been contested. Aftr reading over the Wikipedia speedy deletion criteria, your tag has been removed. There are many companies listed on Wikipedia in a similar fashion to The Geek Media article. If you would look at the guests listed, each of them have given a public nod to the company, verifying it is a valid and notable company that exists. It may not be as well-known but I see no difference.. MenuetRanit 01:43, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on TheGeekMedia, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the article and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.  — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 07:03, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please note

[edit]

It is not appropriate for the person who created the article to remove the speedy delete notice. If you are contesting the deletion, please add the {{hangon}} tag to the article. — Timotab Timothy (not Tim dagnabbit!) 07:03, 22 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when.
