I'm trying to get the Goldshield editor to make the article less spammy so it doesn't get speedied - it looks like it could be a valid article with some work, so his deletions aren't really out of line. Acroterion (talk) 18:15, 4 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

RE: your comment to my talk page

I like to find a Wikipedia English page with some standard, guideline, or rule on it, then link to the other-language article on the left-hand side, if it exists. For example, if they are having trouble understanding Wikipedia:Citing sources, I provide a link thus:

Perhaps you should try reading Wikipédia:Citez vos sources and if you need help following its instructions in English, I can try and find a multi-language user to help you.

Just a thought. - CobaltBlueTony 17:39, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Well I just hate getting called on being inconsistent, or reprimanding without clarification to user who may actually be trying to be helpful, so I TRY to offer some positive guidance therein. They either give up, cooperate, or in the case of foreign-language users, switch to their own language Wikipedia. Jokers/vandals are usually sushed with a simple reprimand. - CobaltBlueTony 17:46, 8 October 2007 (UTC) too logical for his own good![reply]

Deletion of proposed article: Aviators Model Code of Conduct

Dear Merope,

I attempted to post an article entitled, "Aviators Model Code of Conduct." It was then tagged for deletion.

If it was so tagged because of its brevity or links, we're happy to expand it; another option would be to include the full Aviators Model Code of Conduct as an appendix to the article. The AMCC is available at www.secureav.com/AMCC-v1.2.html. Otherwise, thank you in advance for explaining precisely what Wikipedia would like modified in the proposed article.

Sincerely,

Michael Baum (Michaelsbaum) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Michaelsbaum (talkcontribs) 17:37, 8 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Jura-Capresso

Hello!

I just posted the Jura-Capresso page today, and noticed it was removed. Was it because it's similar to the Capresso page?

Thanks!

Aviators Model Code of Conduct (AMCC)

Dear Merope,

You said that you are not sure of the purpose of the proposed article.

Its purpose is to introduce the AMCC, explain its use and resources, and assist users identify the version most helpful to their particular needs.

Also, the proposed article is NOT the entire code but a compact (and hopefully practical) introduction/summary of its content, purpose and utility.

The entire AMCC is available at www.secureav.com/AMCC-v1.2.html.

Hello!

Thank you for the feedback on my article. I'm new to this, and I really appreciate your help. May I ask what about it made you think it was advertising? I would like to know so I can avoid this in the future.

Also, may I revise the article based on your feedback and run it by you to see what you think?

Lightsource.com

You deleted Lightsource.com, however I was in the process of adding news article from Billboard, Christianity Today and other worthy sources. Please tell me how this article is advertising when it is simply telling about a website, even the bad. It fits in the Christian website category. I would like to continue adding sources, as you can tell the sites has been owned by several medias and it is recognizable. - Please help me get this article into a npov! Insertion of new page

Hi,

You deleted Kennet Amateur Theatrical Society which I had part populated and was in the process of sourcing some suitable images. We are a community based group, and I felt the society would be of interest to wiki users.

A similar group Kingswood Players have a page which hasn't been removed, please advise what they have done differently.

Deletion OF Page

You deleted a page which was in no way biased and all fact. You should really check up your facts before making snap decisions about deleting pages. We're just trying to get a little publicity. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Ciankc (talkcontribs) 13:38, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ah come on! You can't delete it for no reason I made sure there was no bias! And its not just publicity people were looking for a website for us after we played The International Guitar Festival so i made a wiki page! its not biased its just a couple of facts about the band members and style. We;re working on a myspace but this is just a small way to let people know about the band. I think you should just let the page be. It's not hurting anyone. Dear Merope

SG CIB was deleted because of copyrights violations.

The sad news is, I am working for Société Générale CIB, and need to create and article on the company. The only official text we have is on our website.

Article : SG CIB

Then how am I supposed to do this ?

Mechsangoku 13:57, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey again,

I can't see any COI in the small article I created. When Microsoft article gives outs benefits, turnover and staff, it do promote the company... Why can't we ? We are just giving facts. I being part of SG don't change much. Actually, I do have all the info we need to make the info the most reliable and recent... There is no way I will belive no one from microsoft never edited anything on the microsoft article....

"Accounts that appear, based on their edit history, to exist for the sole or primary purpose of promoting a person, company, product, service, or organization in apparent violation of this guideline should be warned and made aware of this guideline. If the same pattern of editing continues after the warning, the account may be blocked." Damn, now what are we supposed to do ???

Basically, I am a company, willing to add it to wiki, how I am supposed to do that ? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mechsangoku (talkcontribs) 15:19, 12 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Educate the Children

Why did you delete my article on the non- profit organization Educate the Children. The existance of this organization is a specific piece of information that should be included in Wikipedia. It is not a promotion for a company as we certainly do not intend to attract donors through this website. We are only trying to indicate our existance as a non- profit working for children's literacy in Nepal. I will be happy to make any corrections you request regarding our "importance" per se, but is there any way you can put our page back up? Thank you.

Casey Ryder

Why did you delete the new article I was working on as I was editing it, within seconds of it being created? would it not be more courteous and civil to discuss it first, and at least view the finished product before doing this?

So far no response.

I was in the process of creating this page, and in the middle of an edit to to it. I went to save the revised info and the page had disappeared. Within seconds of creating and in the middle of editing it Merope deleted it with no comment or discussion or guidance or anything. what is going here at wikipedia?

Just totally discouraged and fed up. Vic dood 20:27, 19 October 2007 (UTC)

Educate the Children

Perhaps I am confused as to your general philosophy for Wikipedia. Would it not be preferable to have as much information as possible available? I understand that bias is often an issue in this question, but I feel that the content of the Educate the Children page was completely unbiased and fair.

Also, "Rural Education and Development Programme" has a page very similar to ours that is simply tagged for cleanup. Why could you not have done that for our page (as we were planning to "clean" in immediately anyway?

Educatethechildren 18:49, 19 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

National Rural Health Association

This page is, again, very similar to the one we created and is not even tagged for clean up. I understand that you are not the only administrator, but some consistancy would be appreciated.

Hi, I'm trying to create a wiki page for 20 Bulls Each but you keep deleting it. The band are notable but you have to give me more than 5 minutes to find the links to interviews and international reviews of album and international tour schedules. The band have USA musician visas, the process involved in receiving a musician (P1) visa for united states touring is very strict and states that "The band must be of notable international praise"

Gar 14:53, 25 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

# It has been the subject of multiple non-trivial published works whose source is independent from the musician/ensemble itself and reliable.[1]

  1. Has had a charted hit on any national music chart.
  2. Has had a record certified gold or higher in at least one country.

# Has gone on an international concert tour, or a national concert tour in at least one sovereign country, reported in reliable sources.[3]

  1. Has released two or more albums on a major label or one of the more important indie labels (i.e. an independent label with a history of more than a few years and a roster of performers, many of which are notable).
  2. Contains at least one member who was once a part of or later joined a band that is otherwise notable; note that it is often most appropriate to use redirects in place of articles on side projects, early bands and such.

# Has become the most prominent representative of a notable style or of the local scene of a city; note that the subject must still meet all ordinary Wikipedia standards, including verifiability.

  1. Has won or been nominated for a major music award, such as a Grammy, Juno, Mercury or Grammis award.
  2. Has won or placed in a major music competition.

# Has performed music for a work of media that is notable, e.g. a theme for a network television show, performance in a television show or notable film, inclusion on a compilation album, etc. (But if this is the only claim, it is probably more appropriate to have a mention in the main article and redirect to that page.) # Has been placed in rotation nationally by any major radio network.

  1. Has been the subject of a half hour or longer broadcast across a national radio or TV network.
