Recent edits on Kochi page and attempts of POV pushing

[edit]

Hi Metroman87, Thanks for the contributions. Your contributions are reverted because of possible attempt to glorify the city page. Also, the page is semi-protected because of constant edit-warring. So, please utilize the article talk page, Talk:Kochi, for discussing inclusions. In case you have any doubt, please feel free to ping me. Cheers, -- Aarem (Talk) 12:10, 9 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 12:36, 10 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your attempts to remove refimprove, citations needed, fan's point of view and copy edit tags in Cochin International Airport Limited

[edit]

You have reverted these edits for the second time. These have been placed there since October 2011 for a reason. There has been no significant effort by anyone to improve the article by cleaning up, adding references, writing it from a neutral point of view and not from the point of view of a fan. If you have problems, address the issue in the talk page of the article. rams81 (talk) 21:05, 22 April 2012 (UTC

Yeah, those have been placed for along time and it seems no one is interested in it either. I think the page would look much better if those were removed as it served no purpose.

Can you state the areas where the articles were written from a fans point of view as you said, i can't find any. - Metroman (talk) 13:10, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

That is not how Wikipedia works. They are there because whoever made the edits failed to provide reliable references. In addition to that, encyclopedia articles are written from a neutral point of view not like a tourism brochure. You cannot take off the tags just because "it does not look nice". If they did not serve any purpose, that shows badly on the editors who have made edits since OCtober 2011 and never bothered to improve it in language, references and neutral point of view. rams81 (talk) 15:02, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I can help to improve that. Can you bring to my notice the points that need to be referred and syntax corrected. - Metroman (talk) 19:00, 24 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Metroman87, Unfortunately, problems like these are not location specific that it can be highlighted and corrected. You need to read the article line by line look for places where some claim is being made without citation, and then research to find a reference to back the claim. You may want to look for peacock terms WP:WORDS and rewrite them in encyclopedia style. Or, for a reference look for well written airport articles and compare that to CIAL. rams81 (talk) 14:42, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Being a person who has the idea and knowledge, why don't you do it yourself as you will be able to do it better than me. - Metroman (talk) 16:21, 30 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Cochin International Airport, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you.  Abhishek  Talk 16:53, 5 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Air India Express

[edit]

Hi! I took a look at this edit - I checked the contact us at the site, and it says the headquarters is actually in the Air India Building in Mumbai, so I changed it WhisperToMe (talk) 09:42, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Is something given on their website the final word? You need to understand the reality before jumping into reverts. Not everything on a website is up to date and particularly for a company like Air India, which doesn't even run their flights on time, let alone website updation! It is public information that the AIE HQ is now in Kochi. Still not determined, please check the following links.

"Route scheduling for Air India Express will begin from Kochi as part of the shifting of the headquarters of the Air India subsidiary to the city, said Union Minister of State for Civil Aviation K.C. Venugopal here on Sunday. He said that the headquarters of the airline was being moved to the city in a phased manner after the office began functioning out of Kochi on New Year’s day. The minister was speaking to news reporters after inaugurating a training session for Air Indian Express crew in the city." http://www.thehindu.com/news/cities/Kochi/air-india-express-route-scheduling-from-city-soon/article4282465.ece

" Air India director board, which met in Kochi on Thursday ratified the proposal to shift the headquarters of the Air India Express (AIE) to the city from January 1." http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2012-12-14/kochi/35819011_1_aie-air-india-express-ansbert-d-souza

"Kochi to be Air India Express headquarters" http://www.rediff.com/business/report/kochi-to-be-air-india-express-headquarters/20101231.htm

Thanks - Metroman (talk) 16:38, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

  • Keep in mind that Wikipedia relies on published sources. Yes, there are articles that say that there are plans to move the HQ to Kochi and that should be documented in the article itself (in a headquarters section). While articles say there are plans to move the HQ to Kochi, things may happen to those plans and those plans may not be documented. What I prefer to do is wait until the visiting address/physical address for the HQ is revealed. I'm going to e-mail the Kochi office and ask them if the head office has actually moved, and if so, to please update the website WhisperToMe (talk) 19:57, 5 February 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, let me know if you get any reply from AIE. This is the AIE office address in Kochi.
