Five tool player category
[edit]I have clarified the intent of the five tool player category and explained my rationale at the CfD page you created. This may not change your opinion of the matter, but I felt it best to notify you of the change. Erechtheus 00:18, 30 August 2006 (UTC)
Its easy to revert!
[edit]I noticed your message on the talk page for Fog - it's great you care but did you know you can do this yourself? It's dead easy. Basically all you need to do is click on history. This bring up a list of old versions of the article. Once you are sure you have found one before the vandalism just click on the date/time of that article which will bring up a view of the article at that time. Then click edit, add a useful edit summary (e.g. revert vandalism) and click save. That's all! If you have more questions see: Wikipedia:Revert and for more on vandalism Wikipedia:Vandalism or ask me at User talk:NHSavage. Happy vandal fighting!--NHSavage 22:42, 10 November 2006 (UTC)

Articles for deletion - thoughts
[edit]I think it was a fair shout to nominates these for deletion as they do come close to the notable/non notable line. However I opposed the deletion as the articles are factual with souces to back them up. There are 1.57 million articles on Wikipedia and there are some very non-notable ones that don't get deleted. Surely the job of Wikipedia is to expand people knowledge, which is why I opposed the deletion. It would be one thing to put just any old game show contestant on here, but when you're talking about a Grand Champion who's had 12 or more appearances, I see no harm in writing an article on it, and it seems like the administrators agree. Image:Scra3.jpg listed for deletion
[edit]An image or media file that you uploaded or altered, Image:Scra3.jpg, has been listed at Wikipedia:Images and media for deletion. Please look there to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. License tagging for Image:Scrabfr2.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Scrabfr2.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.
For more information on using images, see the following pages:
This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 23:13, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
Fair use disputed for Image:ISCexample.jpg
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:ISCexample.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 23:23, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
Trivia debate
[edit]Could you please spend a moment to add your 2 cents to Wikipedia talk:What Wikipedia is not#Sections vs. collections and also Wikipedia:Requested moves#September 12, 2007? I think that you had strong opinions on this matter on Wikipedia:Templates for deletion/Template:Trivia. I understand that you are in favour of trivia on Wikipedia, but I may be mistaken. I am the direct opposite, but in the interest of community consensus I'm letting you know of these two pages where debate is continuing. - Ta bu shi da yu 08:48, 14 September 2007 (UTC)
Orphaned non-free media (Image:ISCexample.jpg)
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:ISCexample.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:34, 24 September 2007 (UTC)
- I've actually already asked that this image be deleted, but thanks anyway. Mglovesfun 12:19, 25 September 2007 (UTC)
I saw you listed Dwain Chambers as one of your favourite athletes. I've taken the article to the WP:FAC to try to get it to a featured article status. Could you have a look over the article and add any comments or suggestions HERE? Thanks. Sillyfolkboy (talk) 12:56, 20 August 2008 (UTC)
Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hello Mglovesfun! Thank you for your contributions. I am a bot alerting you that 1 of the articles that you created is tagged as an Unreferenced Biography of a Living Person. The biographies of living persons policy requires that all personal or potentially controversial information be sourced. In addition, to ensure verifiability, all biographies should be based on reliable sources. If you were to bring this article up to standards, it would greatly help us with the current 687 article backlog. Once the article is adequately referenced, please remove the {{unreferencedBLP}} tag. Here is the article:
- Ben Wilson (Countdown) - Find sources: Google (books · news · scholar · free images · WP refs) · FENS · JSTOR · TWL

Hi Martin!
[edit]Hello, I hope you're doing fine and I sincerely apologize for this intrusion. Since you're interested in languages I thought you might help us... I'm a member of an association "Amical de la Viquipèdia" which is trying to get some recognition as a Catalan Chapter but this hasn't been approved up to this moment. We would appreciate your support, visible if you stick this on your first page: Wikimedia CAT. Thanks again, wishing you a great summer, take care and may the force be with you so you can win all your scrabble contests! Capsot (talk) 15:59, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Unreferenced BLPs
[edit]Hi there, Similar to the previous messages you've received about UBLPs, I came across Hervé Bohbot today, a French scrabble player article that you created many moons ago. Is he notable enough? Do you know of any suitable reliable sources? Could you help out with any more of these too? Thanks, The-Pope (talk) 00:19, 12 April 2011 (UTC)

[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Everyone is welcome to contribute to the encyclopedia, but when you add or change content, as you did to the article John Maconnachie, please cite a reliable source for your addition. This helps maintain our policy of verifiability. See Wikipedia:Citing sources for how to cite sources, and the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Disambiguation link notification for October 10
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Kairomone, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Coinage (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 10:55, 10 October 2013 (UTC)
Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article Damian Eadie has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Does not appear to meet WP:GNG or WP:ENTERTAINER. Cannot find any reliable and independent sources supporting WP:CREATIVE.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Justiyaya 16:55, 11 March 2022 (UTC)
