Your repeatedly removing "partners"

[edit]

It has only one meaning in any wikipedia infobox. Note the text in the editing box is actually written as "domesticpartner" but shows up on all pages simply as "partner." Many people have them and you might want to take a look at some other actors' pages for example such as Brad Pitt & Angelina Jolie, or Natalie Portman & Benjamin Millipad. In the cases of former partners, examples include Susan Sarandon & Tim Robbins, Katharine Hepburn & Spencer Tracy, or Audrey Hepburn & Robert Wolders. Clint Eastwood's relationships with Sondra Locke and Frances Fisher are no exception. He cohabited with both of these women for a long period of time, and had a child with the latter. Stop removing them from the infobox. Nowofficiallyonhere (talk) 03:19, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

This issue was discussed on the articles talk page. I'm not sure if you read it. I think that's the best place continue the discussion if you feel it's warranted, so that others can easily join in.Micro2 (talk) 03:47, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have posted the same thing about this on the talk page. You are the only one who objects. I will report you to the administrators if you remove it again.Nowofficiallyonhere (talk) 21:25, 22 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I've been meaning to respond to your concerns for a while but I've been very busy lately. I provided a detailed explanation of my reasoning on the matter and believe I've at least to some extent persuaded some other editors that my position may have some merit.

So far you're tried the confrontational approach to resolve this difference of opinion, but that tends to be somewhat counter-productive with me. I respond best to a collaborative approach, which just happens to be WP policy. Go figure...

Obviously you feel strongly about using "partner" in this manner. I don't get why that is. Perhaps you could explain. Also, all this information is detailed in the body of the article, so why is it so important to you to have it in the infobox too? From what I read of WP guidelines, it doesn't belong there. Are you interpreting the guidelines differently than I?

And finally, I don't have much time to deal with this so I have a proposal. We could ask Nehrams2020 and Jim Michael their opinions. If both of them think "partners" belong in the infobox, I'll let it drop.Micro2 (talk) 00:31, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]
