User talk:Miguelaaron
Miguelaaron, thanks for all your great work on water resources management in Latin America! Just one little request: When you make changes to existing articles, please include a brief summary of what you do in the "edit summary" section. With the numerous edits you make, this makes it much easier for others to follow what is going on.--Mschiffler (talk) 13:04, 4 September 2009 (UTC)
Thanks Manuel. I will make sure to do that going forward.--Miguelaaron (talk)
Articles for deletion nomination of Integrated urban water management (IUWM)
[edit]I have nominated Integrated urban water management (IUWM), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Integrated urban water management (IUWM). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.
Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. —Largo Plazo (talk) 17:20, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
OK, so there are now three articles linking to the IUWM page I created today and the title does not have the acronym anymore. If you could kindly point out what areas of the article do not satisfy WP:Original research and/or WP:Synthesis, I will address them.--Miguelaaron (talk) 21:44, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
I would prefer not to merge with a three-year old article titled, i.e. Integrated Urban Water Management that has been abandoned. I would suggest nominating this article for deletion rather than my article Integrated urban water management which is new and of relevant and useful content to water practitioners in the field.--Miguelaaron (talk) 22:02, 14 September 2009 (UTC)
Sandbox move
[edit]The talk page was moved to User talk:Miguelaaron/IUWM (the old version without the username moved it into an invalid user space).Skier Dude (talk) 22:18, 27 September 2009 (UTC)
my mistake. thank you for making the change.--Miguelaaron (talk) 19:22, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
November 2009
[edit]Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved without good reason. In particular, it was inappropriate to move your user page and your talk page into the main namespace when they really were nothing more than your user page and your talk page rather than the draft of a genuine article. I have reversed your move. —Largo Plazo (talk) 01:59, 6 November 2009 (UTC)
Wikipedia Campus Ambassador needed
[edit]Hi! My name is Annie Lin - I'm the Campus Team Coordinator at the Wikimedia Foundation. I'm contacting you because you're listed as a resident of San Francisco, and we're currently looking for a friendly Wikipedian to teach students in a University of San Francisco class how to use/edit Wikipedia. This is a role titled the "Wikipedia Campus Ambassador," and you'll basically be doing in-class presentations about Wikipedia, running Wikipedia labs/workshops, and in general providing face-to-face Wikipedia help for the professor and the students in the class. The time commitment is about 3-5 hours a week (with variations throughout the semester), and for this particular University of San Francisco class, most of the workload will be between March and May.
Please let me know if you're interested!
Thanks. Annie Lin (Campus Team Coordinator, Wikimedia Foundation) (talk) 19:43, 25 January 2011 (UTC)
San Francisco meetup at WMF headquarters
[edit]Hi Miguelaaron,
I just wanted to give you a heads-up about the next wiki-meetup happening in SF. It'll be located at our very own Wikimedia Foundation offices, and we'd love it if some local editors who are new to the meetup scene came and got some free lunch with us :) Please sign up on the meetup page if you're interested in attending, and I hope to see you soon! Disambiguation link notification for June 28
[edit]Hi. When you recently edited Water supply and sanitation in Nicaragua, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Improved (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
