Dear Miguel,

Thank you for taking the time to review the AFC that I submitted, Wikipedia talk:Articles for Creation/Giulio Maria Pasinetti. I have read the guidelines for Notability again, namely those for Academics (The person's research has made significant impact in their scholarly discipline, broadly construed, as demonstrated by independent reliable sources), and I do feel that Dr. Pasinetti does pass the test. He has nearly 200 manuscripts published in peer-reviewed journals (I linked to 9 such manuscripts on his article), patents in his field of expertise, is editor-in-chief of a journal in his field, directs one of the only Centers of Excellence in Complementary and Alternative Medicine in the United States aiming to treat Alzheimer's disease (which currently has no cure), and has won numerous prestigious awards recognizing his success and productivity. I was wondering if you might be able to help me to improve this article to prove his notability. I thank you in advance for any assistance you may be able to provide.

List of presidents of Colombia

[edit]

Hi Mijotoba, I was looking at your table, is pretty neat, I usually compare it with articles for American topics and I can see you followed the same conventions, so, I think you should go for it, I won't give you advice on specifics as I am not very familiar with the political history of Colombia beyond the 70s. --Camilo Sánchez Talk to me 02:55, 22 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey. Congratulations, the list looks really good. I think you can launch it into Wikipedia as it is. My only suggestion is that, since there are evident signs of 'dinasties' or 'delfines' in the Republic (the Lopez, the Pastranas, the Santos, the Lleras, etc), we can briefly mention that. I agree that this list is a great startint point for Wikiproject Colombia to start a taskforce or a Feature article drive collaboration. I am no expert, but I'm willing to help with some editing.--Forich (talk) 18:44, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks, I am still working on the leads of the lists (I took a look at the featured list criteria and the lead is one of the main points for featured lists) I thought I would have not only a lead for the main article but a lead for each period, I will need help checking the prose and comprehensiveness (two of the criteria) of those (I have already done the lead for the Granadine Confederation, the United States of Colombia and the present day Republic of Colombia if you wanna check those for now). I also need to add sources to those leads, but yeah I will put it up on the article soon, I am hoping to start a taskforce for featured list like you said, I think it's complete enough and seeing that List of Presidents of Venezuela is a featured list, and tha List of Presidents of the United States was a featured list, I think this list has a lot of potential, but I will need a few people from the WikiProject in my corner once I finish and nominate it. I am having some trouble with the wikitable as well and will need help getting it fixed but I dnt know wher to go for that (here is a summary of the problem as I told it to anoher editor). mijotoba (talk) 19:38, 24 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Mijotoba, what about having photos of every president?. I notices some presidents' pictures are missing.--Forich (talk) 17:09, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
This compendium could come handy later. --Forich (talk) 17:22, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The problem is that most images of Colombian presidents are not in the public domain, Colombian copyright law is 80 years after the death of the author which in most cases makes it impossible to get a good image from one of the presidents in the last 80 years. Also museums are very greedy about their images, they won't scan their paintings and most Colombian museums do not allow photographs inside even if the painting is in the public domain, so there is virtually no good resolution image from paintings of presidents from the past except of Bolivar and Santander. So as much as I would want to, having images for all presidents is nearly impossible.mijotoba (talk) 19:04, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Also I forgot to address the suggestion of the dauphinate; it is true that in Colombia the focus on the heirs of political dynasties is of much interest, I myself think it stems more from the disparity of political representation and inequality amongst classes that from a real handing down of power, in any case I believe that it is best addressed in each individual article about each president, as we cannot address every single point of contention in one article alone, I mean there is List of Presidents of the United States by handedness and List of multilingual Presidents of the United States, so maybe a future article about Colombian presidential relatives is in order?mijotoba (talk) 19:19, 25 November 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Ambassador of Colombia to Jamaica, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kingston (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello, You created an article about Alfonso Araújo Gaviria. I created an article about one of his daughters, Helena Araújo. In the info box of Alfonso Araújo Gaviria, you listed her as his daughter. Would it be possible to have her name in blue so to link her page to his? Sorry to bother you, I am slowly learning how Wikipedia works and do not mean to disrupt your creation. Thank you for your time. Jocelyne1960 (talk) 14:31, 4 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello and thank you for the feedback and information. You have been so helpful and added so much to the article. Yes, I am Helena's daughter. I will make sure other people participate in the editing and adding information so that there is no conflict with the regulations. There are countless professors and writers who will be more than happy to participate. As for more details on her education and life, i will fill it in as i can, with the limited time i have and the extremely limited knowledge of wikipedia. Thank you again. Wikimedia DC Holiday Party and Wiki Loves Monuments Exhibition

[edit]

Please join Wikimedia DC and four other local media nonprofits—the National Press Club's Young Members Committee, 100Reporters, IRE and the Fund for Investigative Journalism—in winding down another year with a night of well-mannered frivolity.

The festivities will take place on Friday evening from 6:30 PM to 9:00 PM in the Zenger Room on the 13th Floor of the National Press Club, located on 529 14th Street NW, near Metro Center. There will be meat and vegetarian appetizers as well as a cash bar with specially reduced drink prices all night long. In addition, we will be exhibiting the finalists of the Wiki Loves Monuments photo contest at the event.

Hope to see you there! Kirill [talk] 04:43, 13 December 2012 (UTC)[reply]
