[edit]

Hello, I'm ReferenceBot. I have automatically detected that an edit performed by you may have introduced errors in referencing. It is as follows:

Please check this page and fix the errors highlighted. If you think this is a false positive, you can report it to my operator. Thanks, ReferenceBot (talk) 00:28, 3 June 2014 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Www.katch22sixtiesband.webs.com, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Referencing query: Katch 22

[edit]

Hello, I've tried to answer your question on referencing at the WP:Help Desk. However, I see that you have made several attempts over the past two years to submit an article on Katch 22. Before trying again I suggest you take a little time to research how to go about it. A good starting point could be WP:CTW. Also, why not look at a few existing articles on other bands such as Small Faces, to get a better idea what an article on this topic should look like. Wishing you success!: Noyster (talk), 16:38, 12 July 2014 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Hatchetts.jpeg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Hatchetts.jpeg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 20:05, 19 January 2015 (UTC)[reply]

It looks as though you are having trouble with formatting references. There is a guide at Help:Referencing for beginners. It's particularly important to make sure that every opening tag has a matching closing tag: I have removed an unmatched <gallery> tag which was confusing the whole layout. There shouldn't be any <ref></ref> pairs with nothing inside: the reference should go between them. JohnCD (talk) 17:27, 31 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

MfD nomination of Draft:Katch 22

Draft:Katch 22, a page which you created or substantially contributed to, has been nominated for deletion. Draft:Katch 22

[edit]

Hello, I had deleted Draft:Katch 22 per a discussion at Miscellany for deletion, primarily because it was a stale draft of an article. It seems like you have moved a userspace version back to the Draft space (over the previous location). Since the previously deleted version had more information, I simply restored it for you (per a request on my talk page by another user). You can either edit that current (longer) draft, or just revert my last two edits which will take it back to the short version that you had recently been working on. Let me know if you have any questions. --kelapstick(bainuu) 21:29, 3 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Sir, Many thanks for your help, I have tried today to further reference some of the subject matter on the Katch 22 page today, as per Ivanvector's guidance. I have tried to edit before but the article moves to different places on the site as people review it. I hope that with help I can get the article entered as we were a big part of the sixties music scene, as much as some of the other bands who are in the encyclopaedia already. Can I add scanned copies of newspaper reports as jpeg photos to give credence to the article ? Mike Eastman. Katch 22 Mike-eastman (talk) 14:17, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

The article being moved around was mostly my fault. You and I talked after I nominated it for deletion, and then while you were working on it I neglected to withdraw the deletion thread, and then it got deleted while I was on holiday. I hope my mess hasn't set you back too much. If you need more help with finding sources, you might find the resources at WikiProject Music helpful, or just ask them for input. Cheers. Ivanvector 🍁 (talk) 15:03, 4 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Ivanvector, Many thanks for the prompt reply, I have found the article, and done some more work on it today as per your advice, especially about referencing. I shall persevere with the article and get as many citings as I can find. As I said earlier there are other bands who were not as notable as us who have articles published, so hopefully I can join them. Mike Eastman. File permission problem with File:Katch22.1967.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Katch22.1967.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stefan2 (talk) 19:51, 12 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Stefan, I have modified the photograph hopefully with the right permissions. It was taken in 1967 by a photographer who was told at the time exactly what it was to be used for, ( publicity ) and gave his consent for its use for that purpose. It was used by many magazines / newspapers at the time, so has been in the public domain since 1967. Hopefully my article can soon be put up, as there are many bands less famous than us who have pages already, and it is a true historical statement of fact. Orphaned non-free image File:Katch22.1967.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Katch22.1967.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 02:52, 17 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion pending for File:Katch22.1967.jpg

[edit]

Hello, Mike-eastman. Some time ago, a file you uploaded — File:Katch22.1967.jpg — was tagged with {{OTRS pending}}, indicating that you (or perhaps the copyright holder if you did not create this image) submitted a statement of permission to permissions-en@wikimedia.org. Though there is often a backlog processing messages received at this address, we should have received your message by now.

  • If you have not submitted (or forwarded) a statement of permission, please send it immediately to permissions-en@wikimedia.org and let us know at the OTRS noticeboard that you have done so.
  • If you have already sent this message, it is possible that there was a problem receiving it. Please re-send it to permissions-en@wikimedia.org and let us know at the OTRS noticeboard that you have done so.

If we don't hear from you within one week, the file will be deleted. If we can help you, please feel free to ask at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 14:35, 10 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Mike-eastman. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Katch 22, you may have a conflict of interest (COI).   • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. The Mighty Glen (talk) 08:53, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Katch 22

[edit]

Hello Mike. The article Katch 22 was pretty badly damaged after being re-created using copy and paste. If you want to move a page, please see Wikipedia:Moving a page for the right way to do this. I've asked an administrator to merge the edit histories of the two articles, and now that that's been done, I've moved Katch 22 back to Draft:Katch 22, as it's still not ready for the main article space. Please address the reasons the article was declined for submission before trying to move it back into main article space. For me, the band appears to be notable, so the lack of references needs to be put right before publishing it, rather than the article getting deleted by some other editor. Please give me a shout at my talk page if I can be of help with the referencing, or other questions you might have. Thanks, The Mighty Glen (talk) 12:12, 22 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Your draft article, Draft:Katch 22

[edit]

Hello, Mike-eastman. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Katch 22".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

August 2020

[edit]

Hello, Mike. I have just been looking at your editing history, and I have made the following observations.

  • You have been editing for just over 9 years, during which time you have made 280 edits. Virtually every one of those edits has been part of a persistent attempt to use Wikipedia to publicise the history of your band.
  • Over two years ago you were told about Wikipedia's conflict of interest guideline.
  • Your attempts to get a draft article about your band accepted have been rejected numerous times. Numerous experienced editors have independently informed you that there is no evidence that your band satisfies Wikipedia's notability guidelines.
  • I have made my own searches to try to find evidence that your band does satisfies those guidelines, and failed to do so. It is, in fact, clear that it does not satisfy them.
  • It is past time to accept that your band is not acceptable as the topic of a Wikipedia article, and drop the stick.
  • At least three times you have posted the entire text of your draft to other pages, such as talk pages and the requests for undeletion page. I will not speculate as to what you were trying to achieve by doing that, but it is unhelpful, so please don't do it again.
  • Editors have been blocked from editing on the grounds that they are not here to help build the encyclopaedia on the basis of a tiny fraction of the amount of unsuitable editing that you have done. Consider yourself lucky that that has not yet happened to you; it very probably will happen to you soon if you continue as you have been doing. You are, of course, welcome to make contributions to the encyclopaedia, in line with Wikipedia policies and guidelines, but if your only interest is in telling the world about your band then Wikipedia is not the right place for you. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of music artists and bands from London, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Paintbox. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
