NARTH article[edit]
Hi, I just read NARTH Asks Wikipedia To Permit The Group To Correct Inaccuracies On Site. User:Joie de Vivre had reverted your edits as unsourced. NARTH has the permission to edit the article (like everyone else) -- there's no need to ask for permission :)

Official NARTH position[edit]
Wikipedia by nature doesn't have a concept of authorities because there is no way to verify that you are an official NARTH representative. Anyone could have just as easily signed up and claimed to be Mike Hatfield. To write something, it should be verifiable from a trusted source. If you understood the nature of wikipedia, you would understand that it was perfectly normal for User:Joie de Vivre to remove unsourced material, and calling her (or him) a lesbian socio-political activist[1], probably isn't the best solution. (I would really suggest removing that before you embarass yourself and the ex-gay movement any further, without making him/her make such a statement.) In my experience, you get a lot further when you work with people rather than against them. (See Joie de Vivre's comment on my page.) Really, a lot of our goals are similar - to arise awareness of SSA and dispell the shame of those who have it.
What would be an official source would be something found on Narth's website. You could simply put up a page that says "We do not have any official position on whether or not SSA is a psychological disorder" and viola, the situation is solved. While you are at it, you might make some response to allegations of NARTH being racist and whether or not blacks should have civil rights. I also wouldn't mind some clear statements on aversion therapy, reparative therapy, forcing minors to undergo therapy, whether or not you are forcing gays to change, whether or not you have licensed counselors, whether or not a complete change in sexual orientation is the goal (or just behavior), definition of what ex-gay is and what NARTH's relationship to movement is. Removal of personal claims[edit]
Hello, Mike Hatfield. This is Joie de Vivre. I am writing in response to this comment that you made on my Talk page, in which you offered to remove the claims in the NARTH article which make unfounded assumptions as to my sexual orientation and gender. (I assume you are referring to removing the claims on this webpage.)
As Joshuajohanson, above, mentioned, it would be appropriate for you to remove the unfounded claims, and I, personally, would have a better feeling about your organization if you were to do so.
