Tony Abbott

[edit]

Hi! I noticed your work on the Tony Abbott. Unfortunately, I had to revert it for now - while the content was mostly well sourced, it was too close to the wording of the original sources, so it ran into the policy on copyright. It's still there in the history, though, so your text can be used to build a new version without any problems.

On an related matter, you don't need to create specific templates for citations: generally you'll find that existing templates, such as Template:Cite news and the more generic Template:Citation are pretty good, and can handle what you were trying to do. - Bilby (talk) 14:46, 14 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, just a couple of things on your work on Tony Abbot. The first is whether it would be worth separating some of the One Nation section into a separate article (With a summary and link in the main article). I'm assuming you're still expanding it, and is fairly long already. The other thing is you're making a lot of small edits, which clutters up the article history. It'd be great if you could consolidate the edits together a bit more (Its hard, I struggle with consolidating as I'm not a good proofreader). Keep up the good work Clovis Sangrail (talk) 03:28, 21 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I'm with Clovis on this. The One Nation material is good work but now makes up around a third of the text part of the article on Abbott. That's a bit out of balance. It really needs a separate article. I've opened a section on the Discussion page about this. Please feel free to contribute. HiLo48 (talk) 19:15, 22 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Mikstev - you are still editing the One Nation parts of the Abbott article, but haven't responded here. If you have read this, please at least respond here to say so. HiLo48 (talk) 04:16, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello HiLo48 - I have still been editing the One Nation portion of the Abbott article. I am sorry I have not responded to any of the above talk questions. I am new to this Wiki editing thing. I would like to keep the work under the Abbott section as it is very relevant, and yet contains not very widely known infomation. For me to consider your suggestion, how would you suggest starting a new page? Mikstev (talk) 09:12, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Have a look at Talk:Tony Abbott, bottom section. HiLo48 (talk) 10:18, 26 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
