Guys please post anything in the top (below this message), not at the bottom. I prefer it that way ;) Thanks

Welcome to one of the India wikiprojects

[edit]
Welcome!

Hi, and welcome to the India WikiProject! We're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of India.

A few features that you might find helpful:

There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:

  • Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every India article in Wikipedia.
  • Can you code? The automation department uses automated and semi-automated methods to perform batch tasks that would be tedious to do manually.

If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask another fellow member, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around! -- Lost(talk) 02:37, 27 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Blocked ?

[edit]

Your request to be unblocked has been granted for the following reasons:

I have cleared the autoblock, you should be able to edit now. Sorry for that but autoblocks are no fault of ours and don't reflect on anything you've done, it just means you have the same IP address as that guy. It can be rather a nuisanse - have a read of Wikipedia:Autoblock if you're interested.

Request handled by: Konstable 04:57, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. Do you think it has something to do with Web Accelerator ? --Milki 21:12, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Guys I don't know what happened honest.

I am on a home network and as far as I know no one has edited Wikipedia (besides me) in this house. I am very close to a High School and a Public Library (if that helps)

The changes I've made so far are :

  • USS Trenton (Adding info reflecting Indian Purchase) and corrected a few typos- I edited it before creating an account
  • Blogger - Corrected a few mistakes
  • Hello (app) - Removed SPAM
  • Zooomr - Corrected a few stuff
  • Abdul Kalam - Corrected a few stuff.

This is what I got when I tried to edit Writely

Your user name or IP address has been blocked from editing. You were blocked by Konstable for the following reason (see our blocking policy): Autoblocked because your IP address has been recently used by "Will314159". The reason given for Will314159's block is: "3RR violation".

Your IP address is 64.233.173.85.--Milki 00:00, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My IP address is not 64.233.173.85 It is 71.163.70.54

Oh damn! I forgot I'm using Google Web Accelerator. I think that's the cause.--Milki 00:00, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I can edit again. Was I unblocked ?--Milki 00:15, 20 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image copyright problem with Image:NBalakrishna.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:NBalakrishna.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. For assistance on the image use policy, see Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 08:19, 20 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info, I guess I forgot to tag the image.--Milki 15:19, 21 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

First, please do not remove templates without explanation.

Secondly:

When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labeled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

Filling in the edit summary field greatly helps your fellow contributors in understanding what you changed, so please always fill in the edit summary field, especially for big edits or when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.

Thirdly:

Please remember to mark your edits as minor when (and only when) they genuinely are minor edits (see Wikipedia:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one (and vice versa) is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting and minor rearranging of text should be flagged as a 'minor edit'. Thanks! --Mel Etitis (Μελ Ετητης) 23:48, 7 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The page was deleted after its contents had been transferred to Wikisource. You can find it here. Re-creating the article is not advisable unless you can remove the full text of the report and instead write about the impact of the report, because Wikipedia is not a storage site for texts of reports. Kimchi.sg 15:37, 8 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If you continue to make this kind of edit, you may find yourself blocked for vandalism. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 22:17, 22 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Read WP:CITE, WP:OR, and WP:CIVIL. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 10:12, 27 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unspecified source for Image:Nbk.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Nbk.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self-no-disclaimers}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 04:19, 24 February 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Nv8200p talk 04:19, 24 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose

[edit]

Netaji's Quote "Give me blood and I'll give you Freedom". Here the blood means sacrifice. And the sacrifice means desertion or giving up for the others sake or for others happiness. The quote means. You desert your happiness for others sake and I will give you freedom.

In Hindi: “kul ke liye ek sadasya ka, villege ke liye kul ka aur rajya ke liye ek gaanv ka balidaan uchit hai”.

In English it means: “To save a family tree if a family member sacrifice himself, to save a village if a family tree sacrifice itself and to save a state if a village sacrifice itself is valid”.

Here the sacrifice does not means only giving life, it can also mean giving up ones happiness or giving up ones very dear thing etc. Premchanda (talk) 09:23, 13 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
