I am looking for help improving the dermatology content on wikipedia. Would you be willing to help, or do you have any friends interested in derm that would be interested in helping? Kilbad (talk) 14:19, 16 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I merely translated a dermatology page into German. You might try your luck at German Medical Portal, most everyone there speaks English. --Minderbinder-de (talk) 18:50, 1 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Voting rights

[edit]

You do have voting rights for WP:RFA here; on en.wiki, any registered account can vote. (The reason for this is that, technically, we pretend it isn't a vote, but a discussion, even though it really is a vote ;) ) We normally discount or comment on votes from accounts obviously created solely to vote, but this is obviously not the case with you. Feel free to vote if you wish. --barneca (talk) 15:36, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thanks for the hint, I did not know that. On de:WP we have the Stimmberechtigung, which is based on number of edits and time since sign-up. However, I think it best if I stay on the sidelines, and just act as a character witness for lustiger seth. My not knowing about the voting rights on en:WP is proof enough that I should stay out of meta business here. --Minderbinder-de (talk) 15:48, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Having such self-restraint is more evidence you don't know how we work around here! ;) --barneca (talk) 15:55, 19 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Side note: I have qualified my statement a bit, as I cannot speak for the whole de:WP community, be it regular Wikipedians or admins. The reason for this change is this: After having made my discussion statement yesterday, it has come to my attention that some German admins regard the tuning of our SBL fine in theory and performance-wise, but cumbersome in terms of usability for admins not so well versed in regexp. Personally, I have no issues with this: I am perfectly happy to let specialists like seth deal with this arcane piece of Wikipedia. If I need to get a site banned, I list it as a request, and it gets done. But that is something to keep in mind in your decision here. --Minderbinder-de (talk) 11:38, 20 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]
