Welcome![edit]

Hello, Mira.tbaum, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please complete the student training, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. Scaptotrigona postica[edit]

Really nice job expanding the Scaptotrigona postica article. However, I noticed that there are a few sections that lack supporting citations - for example, the sex determination section. It would be helpful if you ensured that every statement in the article was clearly tied to a supporting citation.

I also noticed that you didn't add your article to any categories. Categories help keep Wikipedia organized, and let more people find your work. Using the visual editor, you can add categories quickly by clicking the menu button and selecting 'categories'. The best way to find out which categories might be right for your article is to find similar articles on Wikipedia which already have categories. Some you can copy right over (if they're both American scientists), others you may have to pick a related or parent category. Don't worry about getting too precise with categories. So long as the categories you add are correct, another editor can more narrowly categorize your article.

You might also like to consider submitting it as a candidate for the "Did you know...?" feature. DYKs (as they are commonly called) are short snippets taken from Wikipedia's newest articles and, if approved, appear on the Main Page. You can learn more about this by clicking on the image to the right to access a nice pdf outlining the process. You have seven days from when the article was created or moved into mainspace to submit the article. Assuming, of course, that you're interested. Disambiguation link notification for October 15[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Scaptotrigona postica, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Combs, Sterile and Virgin queen. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
