Speedy deletion nomination of Sheila Bligh
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Sheila Bligh requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. I have made the experience that some patrollers or whatever like Aerospeed think that an actress that has in her page only two movies is not "notable" say "not worth" to be mentioned. It happened with Sheila Bligh, an english actress and it happened with

The problem is I can't answer those people because I don't know the keys i need.
- I'm not sure what "keys" you are looking for. The notability criteria for biographies are at WP:BIO and, more specifically for actors, WP:NACTOR. It's not a matter of the number of films, but of coverage in third-party sources. Yes, Sheila Bligh existed and played in two films - but, put bluntly, who cares? Have newspapers reviewed her performances? Is she discussed in books on 1940s cinema? Do reliable sources report anything about her beyond a list of films whose credits include her name? If not, Wikipedia should not have an article about her. The other issue in a way was worse; apparently the article on Majestic Theatre included content copy-pasted from somewhere else, a copyright violation. That has been resolved, however, by rewriting the article so it no longer infringes copyright, and the page has not been deleted. Huon (talk) 01:17, 26 January 2015 (UTC)
Proposed deletion of Ann Sullivan (actress)
[edit]The article Ann Sullivan (actress) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- No evidence of notability.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. PamD 09:06, 29 January 2015 (UTC)
Edit summaries, please
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. Here are a couple of general editing suggestions for you to consider:
- Please make a habit of providing an edit summary when you make a change to an article. Doing so makes it easier for your colleagues here to understand the intention of your edit.
- Plus, it will be easier for you and your co-editors to collaborate on articles if, instead of making multiple consecutive edits in rapid succession on an article, you use the "Show preview" button to view your changes incrementally before finally saving the page once you're satisfied with your edits. This keeps the page history of the article less cluttered.
Thanks in advance for considering these suggestions. Eric talk 03:54, 2 February 2015 (UTC)
