Glad to see you back, even if you are retiring[edit]

Well, the heading says it all. Glad to see you back, even if you are retiring! Don't worry about the long absence, the important thing is that you came back to tidy up loose ends. If you ever decide to come out of retirement, do come back and help with the WikiProject. :-) Carcharoth 09:51, 7 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (Image:Jacen.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Jacen.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 14:37, 17 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Ganner.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Ganner.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --EEMIV (talk) 04:24, 17 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Hi[edit]

Yeah, weird for me too. I just scanned your user page. Nice amount of userboxes you have there. Your name does sound a tad bit masculine... but who knows? Corvus coronoides talk 01:05, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Haha, you left me "new messages" three times with your typo-correcting. That nice orange bar kept appearing. I still can't get over the fact that you're a wiki-person. Yes, I know the correct term is wikipedian. "Farewell Content!" (random) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Corvus coronoides (talkcontribs) 01:18, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Oops - forgot to sign with the four tildes. Oh well. I did read your little link and find it very amusing. Corvus coronoides talk 01:21, 20 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Writers Strike[edit]

Just wanted to say "great job" on all the additions to the Writers Strike page today, they just happened to come on the day everybody was talking about the length of the page. I wanted to make sure you knew I wasn't singling you out, your work on the page has been fantastic. Keep up the good work, and thanks! Snowfire51 (talk) 07:07, 23 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Note on Faramir GA nom[edit]

Hello Mirlen,

I am currently in the process of reviewing Faramir for GA and have left extensive, somewhat rambling (perhaps even partially nonsensical) comments on the talk page. This is just a heads-up that the reviewing is going on, and I invite you, or someone else from the WikiProject if you're too busy, to take a look and comment/address the notes that I have left. I look forward to seeing the article improve. Happy Editing! --Malachirality (talk) 01:05, 30 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Mablung.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Mablung.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:57, 1 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article standards and sections[edit]

Hi Mirlen. I think the question you asked on my talk page ties into this discussion as well, so I think I've killed two birds with one stone, and answered at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Middle-earth/Standards. My meta-view, if you like, is that while it is good to have guidance like this, the important thing is to get the flow and section headers suitable for each article. Sometimes a templated approach needs to be flexible enough to adapt to each article. I guess what I mean by this is that the article content shouldn't flow from the headers, but rather the headers should spring naturally from a well-written and well-organised article. Most articles will fit the proposed structure (and I agree som sort of change is needed), but not all article will fit that template. Does that make sense? Input?[edit]

Just check out the last paragraph concerning the NBC Nightly News bit, should I attach {{Verify source}}? Or am I being too paranoid? —Mirlen 04:24, 16 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I assume you mean the last paragraph of the lead in 2007–2008 Writers Guild of America strike. FYI - you didn't give me a link or tell me what article you were referring to. Do that next time? That way I don't have to go through your contribs to figure out which article you probably mean. You should probably put a {{Verify source}} tag in there. It'd be good. I took some liberties with re-arranging the sentence - it didn't read well to me. Corvus coronoides talk 01:02, 17 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

GA review of Faramir[edit]

I've reviewed the article and left notes on the talk page. I've put the nomination on hold for seven days to allow the issues to be addressed. Feel free to contact me on my talk page, here, or on the article talk page with any concerns, and let me know one of those places when the issues have been addressed. If I may suggest that you strike out, check mark, or otherwise mark the items I've detailed, that will make it possible for me to see what's been addressed, and you can keep track of what's been done and what still needs to be worked on. If you're really busy with exams, I have no problems with letting you have more time to deal with exams.Ealdgyth | Talk 16:48, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Happy First Day of Summer[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Princely Houses of the Númenórean Realms-in-Exile, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached.
