Warm Blankets Orphan Care International

I don't think that subjectivity is the problem; it's a question of the organization's notability. See Wikipedia's notability criteria for more. I won't delete the page until I hear from someone here, I could put it up for community discussion if you want, as well. Welcome to Wikipedia, and please don't let this discourage you. Yes, could you give me his username and the article? I can talk to him. If he's done it 4 or more times, you can report him to the administrator revert noticeboard and he may get blocked. Also, he (and it wouldn't hurt you, either) to read the policy on conflict of interest; if he's removing information about rival organizations, that's a violation of COI. Copied from Kei's page: In general you should assume good faith and ask me directly, rather than assuming I am "completely bogus". If Warm Blankets has notability then I am happy to try to help you write an article so it can get listed. I have a long track record of helping other charities to get good articles up about themselves. However no article means you cannot add a URL. SOS Children's Villages is a $800m turnover 125 country operation by the way, with a strict rules to help other NGOs whenever possible... Incidentally just to prove I can turn the other cheek after your rather hurtful comments my offer of help is quite genuine. Give me some clues e.g. on media coverage on the charity and I am happy to help you write an article. As I say I have done this for a series of charities (COI is a bit funny with charities anyway: I obviously give money to charities which compete with SOS and even sponsor a couple of children through other charities). The US media seen is beyond me but at present the article doesn't even CLAIM any notability so is eligible for speedy let alone AfD. Ok, relax. As a Wikipedia Admin I am used to all kinds of abuse and am very thick skinned. On the other hand as someone who has chosen to give up 85% of their personal income to work for starving orphans I am a bit sensitive to the suggestion that I care at all who feeds them as long as they are fed. As many people discover Wikipedia's notion of "notability" is very far from the commonsense concept of worth. We need to find some media coverage for Warm Blankets (there is likely to be some if you look for it) to claim notability otherwise the article will get deleted. On the list thing, I didn't create (or like) a list like that in that article. However the test for inclusion in a list is the same as the test for having your own article, same level of notability. So you cannot even mention Warm Blankets without a link in a list like that without getting an article on them accepted and then you will have to fight whoever put "significant" in the title on what that means. At present of the perhaps a thousand NGOs specialised in orphans the two listed have a turnover of nine figures. Perhaps that is why they were chosen when hope and homes for orphans etc were not. I won't get involved then (because I'd recognise that discussion as a conflict of interest) but the "no article no mention" I enforce everywhere on every kind of list and so do lots of other editors including those who removed it the times when I didn't. By the way if you want any of the text of your first try at the article back just ask me or any other admin: we can access all deleted pages too. --BozMo talk 20:24, 2 January 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. I saved the article I wrote in a Word file and when I have some time I'll find proper citations. I agree with you on ambiguity of significant ("significant charities that help orphans").
