[edit]Hi Miss Boo cat! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at R. Duane Ireland that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia—it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Thank you. - thank you for this information! I am new to Wikipedia. There were a number of mistakes in my entry requiring correcting. Moreover, I wanted to add some content as well. With these changes, my entry is now more accurate and more complete. Is this acceptable?
- Thank you for your help.
- regards,

- Are you R. Duane Ireland?
- If yes, then you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization, clients, or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{edit COI}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam § External link spamming);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
- In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure. Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. - Yes, I am R. Duane Ireland. Perhaps the best action to take is to delete the entry in total in that prior to the corrections I made, it had too many inaccuracies. As noted in the entry, I am now retired meaning that having a Wikipedia entry is not critical for me. I guarantee that I only deleted inaccurate statements and that everything I added is factual. If this guarantee is insufficient, how do we delete the entry please?

- For now, I have reverted your edits on R. Duane Ireland. I would like to know if you have or had any previous Wikipedia accounts? If so, please state the usernames.
- Apart from that, as you have a conflict of interest, it is recommended that you use the edit request wizard by clicking here to request for the changes/updates that you would like to make on the article about you. Thank you! Jeraxmoira (talk) 19:59, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
- Kindly disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest § How to disclose a COI) to know how and where to disclose it. Jeraxmoira (talk) 20:02, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
- I do not have any previous Wikipedia accounts. Please delete this entry. If you cannot delete the entry at my request, what action do I need to take to delete the entry? It simply has too many inaccuracies in its current form. Miss Boo cat (talk) 20:02, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
- I am not completely sure if you can delete an article on Wikipedia. This question will be best answered at the Wikipedia Teahouse. Use the Ask a question button at the top of the page and raise your concern. Jeraxmoira (talk) 20:06, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
- I submitted a question about deleting. I cannot imagine that an entry cannot be deleted especially when it is inaccurate. Miss Boo cat (talk) 20:10, 1 September 2023 (UTC)

You are a notable academic. We do not delete articles about notable people even if they may have retired. Instead, we improve the articles and correct any errors. I removed the unreferenced content that you identified at Talk: R. Duane Ireland. Feel free to make formal edit requests there at any time. Cullen328 (talk) 22:01, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
- Not sure that I am notable but I have been around for a long time. Is it possible to retrieve the additions I made today that were deleted by another individual? If so, I would like to propose their addition to the entry. Miss Boo cat (talk) 22:06, 1 September 2023 (UTC)
- Nothing is lost, meaning that all of the changes that you made to the article - all reverted - are there in the View history of the article. Editors have already implemented some of the changes you desired. Yes, Wikipedia rules and guidelines can be obtuse and opaque to new editors. Be patient.
