Our conflict of interest policy and your user name[edit]

Information icon Hello, Miss World Romania Organization. We welcome your contributions to Wikipedia, but if you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest or close connection to the subject.

All editors are required to comply with Wikipedia's neutral point of view content policy. People who are very close to a subject often have a distorted view of it, which may cause them to inadvertently edit in ways that make the article either too flattering or too disparaging. People with a close connection to a subject are not absolutely prohibited from editing about that subject, but they need to be especially careful about ensuring their edits are verified by reliable sources and writing with as little bias as possible.

If you are very close to a subject, here are some ways you can reduce the risk of problems:

  • Avoid or exercise great caution when editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with.
  • Avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).
  • Exercise great caution so that you do not accidentally breach Wikipedia's content policies.

Please familiarize yourself with relevant content policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies. Note that Wikipedia's terms of use require disclosure of your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you.

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Miss World Romania Organization", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because it is the name of a group, company or organization.. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 13:25, 21 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Miss World Romania Organization (talk) 14:27, 21 December 2014 (UTC) I am the owner of Miss World Romania Organization. Should i change my user name?[reply]

Yes, you should request a name change. Something like John at MWRO would be appropriate signify that you are editing as an individual and identify your connection to the organization. see the instructions at Wikipedia:Changing username -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 14:32, 21 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Miss World Romania Organization (talk) 15:05, 21 December 2014 (UTC) Can you please tell me how i can change my username, or where i can ask for a name change? I searched but i did not find this info... Thank you very much for your help![reply]

Your recent edits[edit]

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 14:12, 21 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

How to request an edit[edit]

If you have a request for the article, you can signal other editors to review your request by placing: {{edit request}}

on the talk page with your requested change. (use just the double braces, not the "nowiki")-- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 15:04, 21 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

December 2014[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Because we have a policy against usernames which give the impression that the account represents a group, organization or website, I have blocked this account; please take a moment to create a new account with a username that represents only yourself as an individual and which complies with our username policy.

You should also read our conflict of interest guideline and be aware that promotional editing is not acceptable regardless of the username you choose.

If your username does not represent a group, organization or website, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice.

You may simply create a new account, but you may prefer to change your username to one that complies with our username policy, so that your past contributions are associated with your new username. If you would prefer to change your username, you may appeal this username block by adding the text {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} below this notice. Thank you. Editing from Miss World Romania Organization has been blocked (disabled) by Drmies for the following reason(s):........."[reply]

The problem is you are still blocked - the person who accepted your unblock request forgot to unblock you so you can put a request on Wikipedia:Changing username. I will post on their talk page. MadGuy7023 (talk) 16:45, 21 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Your attention needed at WP:CHU[edit]

Hello. A bureaucrat or clerk has responded to your username change request, but requires clarification before moving forward. Please follow up at your username change request entry as soon as possible. Thank you. --I am k6ka Talk to me! See what I have done 18:49, 21 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Some responses[edit]

Many other articles are not edited according to our policies and guidelines and so just because another article has something, it doesnt mean that it or other articles should.

WP:MOSFLAG flag icons should only be used in limited situations. The MWR is not an official Romanian government program and so should not be romanian flagged (other pagents that are not official government programs should also not have flags).

the MWRO website would be an valid source for a list of the winners of the contest, but as an encyclopedia, the inclusion in the article would need to be encyclopedic value and not merely trivia . Unless a large number of the winners have gone on to be notable themselves, such a list would seem to be the second not the first. -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 13:18, 22 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]
