Welcome!

Hello, MissusMorris, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions. I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, like Leopoldo Gout, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines for page creation, and may soon be deleted.

There's a page about creating articles you may want to read called Your first article. Proposed deletion of Leopoldo Gout[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Leopoldo Gout, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process because of the following concern:

Non-notable biography of minor figure

All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the dated prod notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because, even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Conflict of interest?[edit]

If you have a close connection to some of the people, places or things you have written about in the article [[[edit] Leopoldo Gout]], you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred from the tone of the edit and the proximity of the editor to the subject, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

 1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
 2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors;
 3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam); and,
 4. avoid breaching relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. For more details about what, exactly, constitutes a conflict of interest, please see our conflict of interest guidelines. Thank you. --Orange Mike | Talk 16:41, 7 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help re. referencing[edit]

I've moved this from Talk:Leopoldo Gout to your talk page. I've also separated your talk page into sections. In future, please ask for help on your own talk page (here), creating a new section to do so, thanks  Chzz  ►  23:23, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

helpme How do inline citations work?

This entry keeps getting flagged for needing verifiable sources and, now, inline citations. I was told that listing IMDb is not a verifiable source, and that the other sources listed are not complete without inline citations. Because this is a stub, I'm confused as to what else I need to include in this article, and why the criteria for its sources differ from this stub, for example: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Costanza Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Tips on referencing

There are lots of ways to do this, some are simple, some more complex.

Personally, I like using citation templates, and fill in as much as I possibly can; maybe a bit more work, but I think it looks better. You have a . An example usage is;

For all the possible things to include, see Template:Citation

Of course, you don't have to put everything in, just whatever you can. The above example is a book, but I've included a 'convenience link' to a website that displays it.

Then, at the end of the document (but before any 'category' tags), you need a references section. You just put,

References
reflist

Hard work? - help is at hand. There are lots of tools that create cite tags automagically. Personally, I use Zotero for the web links, and the cite book generator for books.

I also recommend you look at other articles and copy from them - especially featured articles, which should have good refs.

Hope this help, cheers,  Chzz  ►  23:17, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

April 2009[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as on Talk:Leopoldo Gout, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you.  Chzz  ►  23:29, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Linking[edit]

In talk pages, if you put a URL, like http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Costanza, it will look like this;

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mike_Costanza

It's better if you put the name of the article in double square brackets; if you put Mike Costanza, it looks like this;

Mike Costanza

See Wikipedia:Linking for more, hope this helps,  Chzz  ►  23:36, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Help is here[edit]

Regarding your referencing problem - if you ever need help, there's lots of people out there willing to give you a hand.

Perhaps the best, quickest way, is to talk to us live.

The second method would be to use a helpme template here, on your talk page. Please put it in a new section, and don't forget to ask your question!

If you ever want my own help, just leave a message on my talk page.

Best wishes,  Chzz  ►  23:36, 14 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
