Request reason:

Nearly a month ago, I was blocked from editing on Wikipedia due to "disruptive editing" by Yamla. Yamla mentioned that I was overlinking articles and was under the impression that I was "deliberately harming projects". In response, I said the following: "I apologize if it seemed that way, it wasn't my intention to troll or harm. I understand now how it looks, and I am genuinely sorry for repeating this mistake. I also wanted to add that I do value the projects I was editing, and I regret that my actions negatively affected any projects. I understand the importance of this work and am truly sorry for any disruptions I may have caused". Since then, I have reviewed the "Contributing to Wikipedia" page and have a clearer understanding of what to avoid in the future. Thank you for your consideration, and I hope to be unblocked so I can continue to participate constructively. Thanks :) Mitch4667 (talk) 21:25, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Given the below explanation, I have lifted your block. This is your final chance. Any further instances of your old behaviour, even one, and you'll be immediately reblocked without any further notice. Don't make me regret this. Yamla (talk) 22:08, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You previously promised you'd stop and then immediately continued. And then apologised again. And then just kept going, over and over again. What's changed? Specifically, given that you obviously deliberately mislead us before, what specifically has changed so we can trust you this time? I'm not trying to trick you here. I'm willing to be convinced, but as far as I can see, any explanation has to include you accounting for deliberately misleading us in the past and convince us that, despite this, this time we can trust you. --Yamla (talk) 21:30, 7 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I do understand your frustration here. I did promise to stop before, but then I continued in repeating the same disruptive behaviour. I can also see how this felt like I was deliberately misleading you or the other admins, and for that, I am genuinely sorry. To be completely honest, at the time, I didn't fully accept the weight of actions and how they were affecting the projects I was editing. I guess I thought that i could quickly fix my mistakes while contributing without taking a moment to fully step back, reflect and understand why I was banned and warned in the first place. I understand how my repeated apologies seemed misleading considering I didn't show any change, and I regret the lack of follow-through from my part. What has changed since then is my understanding of the impact of my actions and properly taking accountability for my behaviour. Since my block back in September, I have reviewed the guidelines to assure that I don't make the same mistakes as before, and am intent on taking responsibility for my contributions moving forwards. I know that trust has to be earned in cases like this, and I don't expect you to immediately believe me judging from my past behaviour. However, I'm willing to do anything I can to rebuild that trust. I hope that you can see that I am serious about me learning from my mistakes this time. Mitch4667
