Wikipedia source citations

[edit]

I saw your note on the Rudy Giuliani page. Formatting is pretty easy. If you open multiple browser windows, and one is a Wikipedia article you want to add cites to, you can use another for a Google search -- Wikipedia book cite template, Wikipedia newspaper cite template, Wikipedia periodical cite template, etc.

Open the Wikipedia page from the Google search results, highlight, right click and copy the template you want to use, and paste it into the Wikipedia article in between an ref with a left pointing arrow on the left and a right pointing arrow on the right, and one of these ref symbols with a left pointing arrow and a backward slash and an ref and a right pointing arrow. Delete the fields you don't want to use -- for instance, if you have the date of publication, you can delete the date of access. If a book is so old it doesn't have an ISBN, you can delete that field. Now, if you have your reference open in another window, you can copy and paste the relevant information, or type the relevant information into the cite template.

I hope this helps,
