Cheyenne

[edit]

{{helpme}} I was doing some editing on the Cheyenne page about the Cheyenne Exodus, and while doing my research I have noticed that it seems that this article may have been copied word for word. (Prior to my editing.) I was wondering if the Wiki Native and New World Encyclopedia are in conjunction with Wikipedia? If not here are the two sites: http://www.nativewiki.org/Cheyenne and http://www.newworldencyclopedia.org/entry/Cheyenne

And please take note of format and wording prior to my edits. I was just curious...Mo'onahe (talk) 01:37, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's okay. New World Encyclopedia is one of many mirrors of Wikipedia; we didn't copy the article from them, they copied it from us. And Wikipedia is free for anyone to use, with certain restrictions, so they're welcome to a copy of it. Thanks, though, for looking out for copyright infringement- when we do get articles here that are copied from other places, we need to know about it in order to delete or rewrite them. There's more information on the subject at WP:COPYRIGHT and Wikipedia:Copyright violations. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 01:39, 17 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
