Hi - I am interested in creating a portal that my students and the public can collectively build.

I am new to wikipedia. I would love some help setting up the portal. This is the beginning of the page so far http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Modern_Culinary_History#Cuisine_Histories

How do I build a portal? I really like the style of this one - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portal:Animals

Thanks Jen (Jennifer Houst 08:49, 9 January 2010 (UTC)) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Modern Culinary History (talk • contribs) 08:42, 9 January 2010 (UTC)

Hi Jen, I got your message on my talk page, but unfortunately I don't know a lot about building portals. However, there are some great how-to's over at WP:PORTAL, including instructions and guidelines for building portals. If you have more questions, I suggest seeking help at the WikiProject devoted to Portals, where hopefully they could steer you in the right direction. Also you should note that there is already a Food portal (run by the WikiProject on Food and Drink - I'd also contact them directly), and you'll probably want to either expand that portal directly or create a sub-portal of it. Good luck! ~Eliz81(C) 22:56, 9 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
