Hello Moepoker. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Rob Belgiovane, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Moepoker. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Moepoker|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. scope_creepTalk 23:15, 8 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello @Scope creep, Thank you for your feedback and voicing your concerns regarding my recent edits on Wikipedia, specifically the one related to Rob Belgiovane. I sincerely appreciate the vigilance of community members like you in upholding Wikipedia's guidelines and ensuring the neutrality and authenticity of its content.
I'd like to share with you that I'm currently in the process of drafting a number of articles related to individuals within Creative Direction & Media Production space within my region. These drafts can be viewed in User:Moepoker/sandbox. Importantly, I'm not receiving compensation for these articles, and my intent is purely to enrich Wikipedia's content. While I strive to adhere to all guidelines, I recognize that there may be nuances or protocols I might not yet be fully accustomed to. I believe this might be a contributing factor to the concerns you raised.
I understand the concerns and the policies surrounding undisclosed paid editing, and I am committed to ensuring the quality and impartiality of Wikipedia's content and have approached my edits with this in mind. I've tried to base my contributions on reliable sources and to present information in a balanced and neutral manner. I'll work on the draft and will aim to ensure that it meets Wikipedia's content and neutrality guidelines before resubmitting or moving the page back. Thank you for your time and guidance. If you have any additional advice or resources that you believe would help me in refining the article, please don't hesitate to share.
To alleviate any further concerns, if you deem appropriate I am more than happy to provide a statement on my user page, User:Moepoker, indicating that I'm not engaged in paid editing for these articles. I will ensure this statement is clear so that future editors or users who come across my profile can easily understand my position.
Additionally, after exploring your user page, I've gained a better understanding of how to effectively utilize this page and to structure and present content. Your page serves as an excellent model.
Again, thank you for being proactive in ensuring Wikipedia's credibility. It's through checks and balances like these that the platform continues to thrive as a reliable source of information. Please let me know if you have any further questions or if there's anything else I can do to address this matter. Warm regards, @Moepoker Moepoker (talk) 22:42, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Moepoker: Coolio. I see the Barry Ferrier article. Do you happen to know the man or work with him That would indicate a WP:COI. Your article on Barry Ferrier is extrememly promotional and used a lot of fluffy language. You will need to tone down the language, make it WP:NPOV, to a more neutral language, so its acceptable to wikipedia standard. Please look at some other biographies for examples. Hope that helps. scope_creepTalk 09:59, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your feedback on the draft article about Barry Ferrier. I have no personal or professional connection to him. I acknowledge that at this time the draft article's tone done seems promotional. This is a first pass draft and my intention is to contribute information about notable individuals in the Creative Direction & Media Production space from the region. I'll be working to revise it in line with WP:NPOV.
As for the Rob Belgiovane article, I'll be making updates based on your feedback. Once those updates are made, would it be appropriate to submit it for review? I recall you mentioning not to edit further or submit until replying. I'm keen to ensure all is in order before proceeding. Thanks again. Moepoker (talk) 02:48, 26 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
