Speedy deletion of Styr Nythas

I am not the author of the article but I do not see in anyway how this would constitute CSD for vandalism. Granted the article needs references, but I feel it is a legitimate article and most definitely worth keeping. Bvlax2005 (talk) 07:45, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

I'm the author, and I am completely astonished. Where is the vandalism? My only intention was to touch a reality which has been not enough treated or documented, the issue of the relationships between Ossetians in both states. I placed myself tag "stub" seeking from collaboration to expand/contrast/discuss the topic. My intentionallity was purely cientific-enciclopedic and I won't accept the qualification of "purely vandalism" at all. --Monturiol (talk) 08:12, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Page was deleted under a different critereon for speedy deletion. Whether or not CSD A1 ("very short article providing little or no context") applies or not is a more subjective question. Since it was deleted under CSD A1, and not CSD G3 ("pure vandalism"), I would say that the deleting admin agreed that the page isn't vandalism. עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 08:38, 27 August 2008 (UTC)

Regarding Styr Nythas

I fully agree with you in that the article should have been kept. Originally it was mis-tagged for vandalism (although clearly not the case). However, it was deleted due to a lack of context, which I'm still not sure if I agree with. I would recommend restarting the article, however you can work on it in a sandbox. In the URL on your user page you can add subpages. To do this simply change the URL in the address box of your web browser to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:Monturiol/PAGENAME. Then it will prompt you to create the page. Subpages do not show up in the normal Wikipedia entrances and are not considered for deletion. You can use this place to create your article on Styr Nythas and bring it to a state where it can be transferred to Wikipedia. Hi Monturiol. I did not delete this as vandalism, which looking at the talk page is what you thought I had done. I deleted it because I thought it had little context, which under WP:CSD#A1 is a valid criteria. For me, the only sentence identifying the subject of the article is the first sentence, and the remaning sentences are what I call "filler". However, context is a very subjective thing, and it appears I am in the minority! I will restore it, but I urge you to add more if you can. You are correct that WP is a collaborative effort, so please don't let this occasion be a turn off for you. I offer my apologies. I just noticed that the article has been restored. I would agree with User:Matthewedwards that I would spend a couple more sentences explaining the ideology instead of describing the Ossetians, since the link in the first sentence provides such information. There is a short paragraph available here that gives a little information about context if you are curious. There are hundreds of articles added daily to Wikipedia so it can be very easy to mix up legitimate stubs with articles that provide no true reference or information to the reader. Benvolguda,em permeto posar-me en contacte amb tu, perquè com veuràs a la taverna [[1]] hi ha eleccions al Consell d'Administració de la Wikimedia Foundation.

La meva comunicació amb tu la realitzo perquè segons el teu historial de contribucions veig que tens dret a vot i molt poca gent llegeix la taverna. Em permeto comentar-te que seria molt interessant poder portar membres de la nostra comunitat al Consell d'Administració de la Wikimedia Foundation, però certament tots nosaltres votem individualment i en consciència.
