Welcome![edit]

Hello, Mosimpkins, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Shalor and I work with the Wiki Education Foundation; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Notes[edit]

Hi! I wanted to give you some notes on your work:

  • The article sources need to be in-line. Do you have Visual Editor enabled? If not, you can enable it via this. Directions on creating citations are here.
  • Avoid including any original research, reflections, or opinions in the article. Examples of original research would be "if... then..." type statements where it comes across like you're saying that because the source says this, that it then would cover this other thing it doesn't mention. Reflection or opinion statements are sentences like "Interpersonal conflict is essential to our existence given the current trends toward diversity and globalization." While I don't doubt that the statement is true, it may not be a belief that is universally held. Statements like this can only be included if they're attributed to an authoritative source, such as "According to Jane Smith, interpersonal conflict is essential to our existence given the current trends toward diversity and globalization." The same goes for words like "useless", as we cannot absolutely state that something or a situation would be seen as useless because pretty much everything is subjective and up to debate. We can only summarize what is stated in the source material - we can't create new conclusions or research.

I fixed some formatting for you so the layout is a bit clearer, using Visual Editor. In any case, I think that you have a good start here - it just needs some tweaks. Shalor (Wiki Ed) (talk) 15:33, 6 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
