Thin Lizzy[edit]

Hi there, don't edit war. I've taken Gary Moore out of the associated acts field because he was a member of Thin Lizzy, and members are not to be entered in that field. I've taken Rihanna out because no member of Thin Lizzy has been a regular member of that act, obviously. It would be better for everyone if you don't re-add those two. Thanks, Bretonbanquet (talk) 20:17, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Gary Moore was mistakenly added back when I undid the edit. My original edit added Guns 'N Roses and Rihanna, both of which Richard Fortus performs with. Fortus' own Wiipedia article references both acts, so I think they deserve to be listed here. Discuss. MossChops99 (talk) 21:29, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for discussing. According to the guidelines at Template:Infobox musical artist#associated_acts, acts with one common member are not to be included in the "associated acts" field. That includes Motorhead, Guns N Roses, Whitesnake, Def Leppard etc etc. Fortus only performed on one of Rihanna's tours, not even an album, so she misses out on several counts. If we added every act which a member of Thin Lizzy played a few gigs with, there would be dozens and dozens of acts. Bretonbanquet (talk) 21:49, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That sucks. MossChops99 (talk) 21:54, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, we can't have an infobox with 50 or 60 associated acts in it, nearly all of them more closely associated than Rihanna. For other bands like The Beatles or Fleetwood Mac, there'd be hundreds. Bretonbanquet (talk) 22:01, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, but it still sucks. MossChops99 (talk) 22:12, 11 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]
