Welcome[edit]

Welcome, Mpmv8! Thanks your work on Lusoga language and Lusoga. You might want to take look at a few other articles on African languages, e.g. Laal language, Nafaanra language, Nobiin language, and Tashelhiyt language, to see how they are structured. In any case, your contributions greatly shape up the article! By the way, do you speak Lusoga yourself?

Since you're new to Wikipedia, I thought I'd provide you with a few good links for newcomers:

Also, judging from your contributions, I thought you might be interested in the Africa-related regional notice board ; and probably in WikiProject Countering Systemic Bias, too. I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and vote pages using four tildes (~~~~); it produces your name and the current date. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my Talk page. Kind regards, — mark 12:13, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for Image:Henrywakomuloki.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Henrywakomuloki.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Image copyright problem with Image:Alice_muloki_(nee_Kintu).jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Alice_muloki_(nee_Kintu).jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

User page? And a Q on Ugandan politicians[edit]

Hello Mpmv8,

you might want to create a user page for yourself. That way, your name won't show up as a red link on watchlists, article histories and recent changes; what's more, you can use it as a sort of personal working space where you can organize drafts, list past projects, and maintain to do lists.

By the way, I have a question about some of your recent articles on Ugandan politicians. The text of Sir William Wilberforce Nadiope Kadhumbula of Busoga seems to be a copy of the page http://www.busoga.com/kadhumbula.php. Do you have permission to copy their materials? If so, you should state it in the body of the article. If not, I'm afraid the inclusion in Wikipedia violates their copyright, which would be unacceptable. Please clarify the relation between your articles and busoga.com. You can reply here or on my talk page. Best, — mark 13:34, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mpmv8,
Three of your recent articles seem to be verbatim copies of content from busoga.com:
These have been blanked and listed as copyright violations because, as it says below the editing window, Do not copy text from other websites without permission. It will be deleted. Please clarify if you have permission. If you have, then this can easily be turned back so don't worry. If you haven't, the articles will be deleted because otherwise Wikipedia would be violating the copyright of Busoga.com. If there are more articles you copied, please rewrite them if you want to keep them. Please let me know if you need help or if you have any questions. Regards, — mark 20:14, 12 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for your mail. I've added {{inuse}}-tags to these three, so make sure you don't wait too long with rewriting them. — mark 10:36, 14 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Semei Kakungulu of Buganda/Busoga[edit]

The article should be at Semei Kakungulu as that is his name. It follows the convention used for peoples names. I have changed Semei Kakungulu back to the article (and added in the extra information that you had provided) and made Semei Kakungulu of Buganda/Busoga a redirect. Cheers. Your edits on Busoga[edit]

Please do not make all the pictures 299 pixels in size. They are too big to display on certain monitors. Leave out the 299px and let people select the size of the picture they wish to see.

Secondly, keep the description of the pictures short, not more than 7 words. Otherwise it also makes the picture look ugly. Regards, Kimchi.sg 02:02, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image:Matoke.jpg[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Matoke.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. --Kimchi.sg 02:02, 20 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Basoga, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. 172.129.133.83 16:54, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
