Suggest you get some advice on formatting[edit]

Greetings, I see you've been adding some articles on French noble families! Your enthusiasm is great, but glancing at your work I see you're still pretty new to Wikipedia formatting. Since standardised format is pretty important on an encyclopedia, I strongly suggest you either (or both) take a look at the tutorial links provided you at the top of this Talk page, and/or come visit at the Teahouse to get answers to any of your questions about how to best polish up your articles.

As an example, at Lords of Brandon, you didn't provide any WP:Categories, which makes it far less likely that anyone will read your article. Fortunately, we have WP:UNCAT, a team of volunteers who rescue uncategorised articles and get them properly filed. So the good news is folks are working to clean things, the bad news is that leaving things out of your formatting makes work for other volunteers. If you can do just a bit of reading up, and/or look over some other articles to see how they're formatted, you'll both save everyone a lot of time, and make your articles more accessible and helpful to more and more people.

Feel free to write me on my Talk page with any questions, MatthewVanitas (talk) 18:28, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion discussion about House of Pigniol[edit]

Hello, MrArcAngel,

I wanted to let you know that there's a discussion about whether House of Pigniol should be deleted. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/House of Pigniol .

If you're new to the process, articles for deletion is a group discussion (not a vote!) that usually lasts seven days. If you need it, there is a guide on how to contribute. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

Thanks, Batard0 (talk) 19:25, 3 October 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Batard0, thanks for letting me know. I'm starting to think that this is not where the discussion is happening. In Brief

I have just come across 20 volumes of 15th century ancient Latin French, of which I am having to translate using various, probably out of date translation programs, My formatting knowledge is still pretty poor, and I'm trying to improve.

now to find the discussion.

Notice

The article House of Mercure has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG. None of these family members have articles, a listing in an old directory does not give notability, no hits in Google search.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
