Welcome and reply[edit]

Dear David, welcome and many thanks for your interest in improving material on wikipedia. I am afraid I do not have as much access to content as you and would be extremely happy to see more on Horace Alexander. My interest in him has chiefly been from an ornithological angle particularly in relation to India. I am sure there must be tomes to be written of his works on Gandhian thought. I recently tried to obtain access to some material in the Oxford archives, but as an individual researcher in India all this is quite difficult to pursue. I am almost certain that you will find the required source material for what you need in archives in the UK. My source has only been the works of the late Duncan Wood. You should be able to find more by writing to Dr Geoffrey Carnall ( G.D.Carnall at ed.ac.uk ). One archive that does hold some of his correspondence is the Alexander Library at Oxford. Sophie Wilcox is the archivist and can be contacted via (sophie.wilcox at ouls.ox.ac.uk) (Oxford University Library Services, Alexander Library, Dept of Zoology, Hours of work: Mon-Wed 9.30am-4.00pm Web: http://www.ouls.ox.ac.uk/isbes Phone: +44 (0)1865 2-71143/1). Another archive is here. Keep up the good work. Let me know if I can help in any way. Shyamal (talk) 01:38, 9 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
