Was Neelix, now Peridon...

I've declined a Neelix delete, and re-redirected it to Bokanovsky's Process. Jim isn't mentioned by name, but he was either the originator of the process or it was for some reason named after him, so far as I can see from Google anyway. Peridon (talk) 21:41, 15 July 2016 (UTC)

@Sphilbrick: I'm using the temporary Neelix speedy instead of using RFD to save a lot of time on the RFD. I only use the RFD if I'm not 100% sure if they should be deleted, or if there is an alternative target page. If you wish the temporary Neelix redirect should be stopped, that is fine with me. I understand you didn't create it. But I wanted you to be aware that there is a distinct possiblity that we will remove the whole list, so I thought you might want to hold off, pending the result. I think you are missing the point. A speedy still means you have to review the item, then nominate it as a speedy, then an admin has to assess it. Multiply by 18000. That's an enormous wastage of time. I want to stop the waste. I think your mind - you are a librarian after all - is too valuable to waste, without even considering whether an admin's time has an value :) --S Philbrick(Talk) 17:11, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

@Sphilbrick: There's nothing else we can do though. If we make a bot to get rid of them, sure that will save a lot of time. However, a bot can accidentally delete redirects that are useful. Another idea would be to go through all of them, make a list of the ones that are not useful (with consensus), and mass delete them all at once with a bot? I only go through some of it at a time, and nominate a handful (while making sure I don't create a backlog). --MrLinkinPark333 (talk) 17:16, 16 July 2016 (UTC)

I appreciate MrLinkin's support all the same, but yes, the idea is to document edits which are more marked content improvements rather than minor fixes. But don't want to deter you as it's needed work! If you could only include entries where you've really improved a lot of the source formatting, added a bit of content/copyedit etc I would appreciate that. If it's full source formatting on at least three or four ref urls, that's OK I think, but not the tiny glitch fixes.♦ Dr. Blofeld 06:16, 14 October 2016 (UTC)

Last year, more than 7,000 articles contribute to Wikipedia in 43 languages in Wikipedia Asian Month, making us one of the largest event on Wikipedia. This year, we are lowering down the standards that you only need to create 4 (Four) articles to receive a postcard (new design), and articles only need to be more than 3,000 bytes and 300 words. Welcome to Wikipedia Asian Month!

Hi there! Thanks for joining Wikipedia Asian Month. Here is some information about participating in the event:

1. Please submit your articles via this tool. Click 'log in' at the top-right and OAuth will take care the rest. You can also change the interface language at the top-right.
2. Once you submit an article, the tool will add a template to the article and mark it as needing review by an organizer. You can check your progress using the tool, which includes how many accepted articles you have.
3. Participants who achieve 4 accepted articles will receive a Wikipedia Asian Month postcard. You will receive another special postcard if you achieve 15 accepted articles. The Wikipedian with the highest number of accepted articles on the English Wikipedia will be honored as a "Wikipedia Asian Ambassador", and will receive a signed certificate and additional postcard.
4. If you have any problems accessing or using the tool, you can submit your articles at this page next to your username.
5. Wikipedia Asian Month is also held in other language Wikipedia and count independently. Check for other language editions.
6. If you have any question, you can take a look at our Q&A or post on the WAM talk page.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
