Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, MrSimpson73, and welcome to Wikipedia! My name is Ian and I work with Wiki Education; I help support students who are editing as part of a class assignment.

I hope you enjoy editing here. If you haven't already done so, please check out the student training library, which introduces you to editing and Wikipedia's core principles. You may also want to check out the Teahouse, a community of Wikipedia editors dedicated to helping new users. Below are some resources to help you get started editing.

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Hemp. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. If you feel the link should be added to the page, please discuss it on the associated talk page rather than re-adding it. This is an unreliable blog/recipe source for a nutrition topic. Please use WP:MEDREV sources. Zefr (talk) 20:01, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hemp article and talk page

[edit]

On my talk page you said: Why did you erase my edits in the article Hemp. And my course content in Talk?

You're adding course outline material to an article talk page where other editors make comments to improve an article. The talk page is not a place for discussing what you plan to do (without first gaining consensus, WP:CON) or what you have done. It is not a forum for your thoughts, WP:NOTFORUM, or to serve as a blog, WP:NOTBLOG.
With this edit, you added a bunch of promotional nonsense, "Hemp is a nutritional and savory ingredient in gluten-free vegan cuisine. From hemp and beet veggie burgers to hemp and lemon humus, hemp is a chemical free super food..." with the Kind Earth and Headed West websites, both of which are spam, WP:SPAM. You didn't provide an edit comment when you made that edit, and you don't sign your talk page comments with four tildes. You need to spend more time reading and learning the guidelines above for new editors to know how to participate constructively on the encyclopedia. Zefr (talk) 23:02, 26 April 2020 (UTC)[reply]
