Love your work on women boxers

[edit]

I really like your work on updating the fight records of professional women boxers. I think that there are plently of other professional female women fighters that need work such as Kisha Snow, hit me up if they are others that you didn't know need updating. Dwanyewest (talk) 15:45, 27 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Dwanyewest Hi, thanks for your response. Yeah, I noticed as well that a lot of professional female fighters were missing their fight records. I stumbled upon a couple myself, some only have their last few fights on their page, and some miss their entire boxing record. If there are more you would like to suggest, feel free to let me know. MrUnoDosTres (talk) 16:39, 28 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Metro City

[edit]

Hey MrUnoDosTres. I don't know if you are creating "Metro City nightclub" in your sandbox but disambiguation pages should only hold blue links (Wikipedia:Manual of Style/Disambiguation pages). Would you mind waiting until the page is published before linking? HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 02:31, 30 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi HickoryOughtShirt?4, and thanks for your response. I was about to ask why you had reverted my contribution. Thanks for the explanation. No, I am not creating the "Metro City nightclub" page. I am actually working on Louisa Hawton's professional boxing record. One of her fights was at the Metro City nightclub. And Metro City was redirecting to that disambiguation page. That is why I had added the nightclub. I will remove the internal link then. So, people don't get confused. MrUnoDosTres (talk) 02:41, 30 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Oh, that makes sense. I was looking at the pages you created and contributed to and a nightclub seemed out of the ordinary. Anyways, thanks for understanding and have a happy New Years! HickoryOughtShirt?4 (talk) 02:46, 30 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Happy New Years to you as well! MrUnoDosTres (talk) 02:58, 30 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]
[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Cecilia Comunales, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Estadio Municipal (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Eva Wahlström / flagicons

[edit]

Greetings! Based on our interaction at Eva Wahlström, and your ongoing work on women's boxing articles, I would like to invite you to start a new discussion at the Project regarding the use/inclusion of flagicons. At the Project we last had an RfC which ended in January 2016, with the result being a WP:NOCONSENSUS. Therefore, when interpreting that, it meant that articles which had flagicons in a stable revision would retain them, but articles without them in a stable revision would not have them inserted at all.

It was the best compromise we could come up with at the time, but three years have gone by and the problems that flagicons present (regardless of which side of the argument editors happen to be on) are still an issue. I've been musing over restarting the discussion for a while, but the main thing holding me back has been a lack of participation by other editors (again, on both sides; I don't care who "wins"). If you're up for it as well, I would be happy to get back into it and perhaps change the prevailing no-consensus into something more definitive. Mac Dreamstate (talk) 18:49, 30 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mac Dreamstate, I would be interested in restarting that discussion. But I guess that it would have to wait a little due to New Year's Eve. My issue with the Wikipedia page of Eva Wahlström specifically is that you were the first one to delete the flags by calling them "useless eye candy". And you seem to be the only one who keeps deleting them. Even though a couple of other users before me also attempted to add flags.

I personally respect whether flags should or shouldn't be added with someone's professional record if it is common practice to use/not use them. For example with MMA records they don't use them. For example:

But all these boxers have flags:

And even here flags were used:

And this list could go on for quite a while like this. So, not using them, because I happen to personally dislike flags isn't in my opinion a good argument.

I personally respect the nationality provided by BoxRec. So, I don't add flags, because I "feel" that a boxer has for example a Mexican heritage, if BoxRec says that the boxer's nationality is American. In such a case I will only use the American flag.

The RfC specifically states, I quote, "There is no consensus. The responces are thought out, but are to evenly split. One opinion is that they provide easy identification of the nationality of boxers. The other that flags are a magnet to disagreement and that words are better than flags. Being a no consensus close WP:NOCONSENSUS should apply and appropriate guidelines should be followed."

So that is exactly what I do. I follow the guidelines of MOS:SPORTFLAGS which specifies that only the representative nationality should be used, which I do. MrUnoDosTres (talk) 04:23, 31 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Can I ask a favour please?

Could you redirect Indian Bull Terrier to Gull Terrier as I don't know how to do it. Dwanyewest (talk) 15:22, 31 December 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Dwanyewest, sorry for my late response. I can make a redirect if you want. My only question is, are you 100% sure that these are the same dogs. Because I googled it a bit. But people on some forums were claiming that the Indian Bull Terrier and the Gull Terrier aren't the same dog.

"My male is 16 inches and female is 17 inches at withers, Hinks dogs range is also same, why do you think they are bigger ? I suppose you are confusing gull terr with Indian bull terrier, gull terr are heighted than Indian bull terrier. Google difference between gull terr and Ibt you would come to know what i am trying to say." Source: Pit Bull Chat

"Secondly i am not talking about gull terrs of Pakistan i again repeat this, this are Indian bull terriers different than pak versions. gull terr are mix between bully and Ibt, they are larger than Ibt in size." Source: Staffy Bull Terrier

Unfortunately I couldn't find any official sources. Only these comments on forums. MrUnoDosTres (talk) 16:03, 4 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Estadio Municipal de Pando moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Estadio Municipal de Pando, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Hi there, I'm HasteurBot. I just wanted to let you know that Draft:Estadio Municipal de Pando, a page you created, has not been edited in 5 months. The Articles for Creation space is not an indefinite storage location for content that is not appropriate for articlespace.

You may request Userfication of the content if it meets requirements.

Thank you for your attention. HasteurBot (talk) 00:44, 20 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, MrUnoDosTres. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "Estadio Municipal de Pando".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! CASSIOPEIA(talk) 06:23, 25 October 2019 (UTC)[reply]
