The point of the speedy deletion procedure is that articles deemed to meet the criteria can be deleted immediately and without discussion. Normally I am happy to sandbox deleted text for users to work on further. The exception is articles like this which are essentially close paraphrasing of copyrighted material.

  • Copyrighted text is not allowed anywhere in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient. But in any case the copyrighted text is too promotional to be useful for Wikipedia's purposes, so there would not be any point in your jumping through all the hoops that are required.
  • You also did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that it meets the notability guidelines. You gave references, but they were not in-line, so it was difficult to know which parts of the text each was supporting.
  • It was written in a promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic. Lots of aims and claims, few hard facts

looking again, I may have been a bit hard on you. I'd just deleted an article with similar problems, but with the key difference that it was clearly intended to promote a company. I'll post the deleted text here shortly. It's up to you whether you still feel that you want to work on it, but please copy it to your hard drive in any case, since I'll redelete if you don't want to use it in the near future. I've made these edits, formatting, added a couple of links, removed address (non-encylopaedic). I've changed the "References" to "Further reading" since I can't see how they are being used as refs, and I removed one which already appears in the reflist.
I think you really need to make notability clearer. I've no idea of how many individual and organisational members there are, what it's funding is (sources and amount). You also need at least one more reference. At present, the whole of the first paragraph is unsourced, and your two refs are to the organisation itself and to someone who appears to be associated. Something sourced to the national parks service or the historic sites organisation would be good. It's up to you when you move this back to article space (you should see a "move" tab somewhere) but I'd suggest these additions to make it a bit more fireproof Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:05, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Looks OK to me. The financial stuff isn't critical, I was just trying to get a bit more meat in the article, in case there were any queries about notability from other editors, but I think you should move it to article space now, good luck Jimfbleak - talk to me? 19:09, 3 January 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I'd rather assumed that you would move straight to article space rather than go back to AfC, since I've effectively already reviewed the article. It's up to you, but if you do decide to move it again, untick the "leave a redirect" box when you do, so it's cleared at AfC. Dublin Seminar for New England Folklife - ISBN error

Hello. I've been working to fix invalid ISBNs in articles, which led me to this article and this edit. The cite for Puritan Gravestone Art shows an error. This is because you have put a different kind of identifier (an OCLC control number) in the ISBN field. This OCLC control number links to the online copy of this item but I've noticed that you've also included a different OCLC control number in the url that links to the print copy of this item, so to fix this properly I need to know which one you actually used. To be clear, I'd like to change this:

  • Benes, Peter (1977). Puritan Gravestone Art. Boston: Published jointly by Boston University and the Dublin Seminar. ISBN 557980715. {{cite book}}: Check |isbn= value: length (help)

to either this (if you referred to the print version):

  • Benes, Peter (1977). Puritan Gravestone Art. Boston: Published jointly by Boston University and the Dublin Seminar. OCLC 12705455.

or this (if you referred to the online version):

Please do wikilinks correctly. It is [[Ohio]] not [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ohio Ohio]. They even look different on the page... Ohio vs. Ohio.
