I noticed you created the article Musical Theatre Guild—The Founders Story. I've nominated this article for deletion, since the article Musical Theatre Guild already exists. Since Wikipedia strives for a neutral point of view, it shouldn't be necessary to have two articles giving two sides of an issue.

It seems like you created the second article because you didn't like the changes that were made to the first. As Wikipedia is a collaborative project, it's inevitable that all contributions will be altered. As it says at the bottom of every edit page, "If you don't want your writing to be edited mercilessly or redistributed by others, do not submit it." This works both ways. If someone is adding false information to an article, feel free to remove it. If you want to assure that the facts in the article aren't removed, please cite your sources. If there are no reliable sources on a topic, it should not have an article.

Below, I'm pasting a standard welcome message with a number of links about how to write for Wikipedia. Please feel free to leave a message on my talk page if you're still unclear about anything I've brought up. --Djrobgordon 04:09, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Musical Theatre Guild[edit]

I don't have any opinion about which article is more factual. The only reason Musical Theatre Guild is preferred is that it adheres to Wikipedia naming conventions, while Musical Theatre Guild—The Founders Story does not. The first is the proper name of the group, as well as the most likely search term. In addition, having "The Founder's Story" in the title implies that the article is one person's version of events, rather than a factual account.

As I said before, if Musical Theatre Guild is inaccurate or omits important information, please edit it. If the change in leadership is a contentious issue, please consider citing verifiable sources. Otherwise, Wikipedia editors won't have any reason to believe one account over the other. Since neither article has any references, I can't have an opinion about which one is more accurate. According to Wikipedia's policy on citation, any material that is likely to be challenged must come from a verifiable source. As someone with inside knowledge is the situation, this may seem unfair to you, but it's the only way to protect the integrity of this site. I don't doubt that you were at one time associated with this group, but the internet is nonetheless anonymous. I hope you can understand why we can't simply take a person at his word when he claims to have personal knowledge of a situation. --Djrobgordon 06:58, 25 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
