[edit]Hello, I'm C.Fred. I wanted to let you know that I removed an external link you added to the page Pakistan International School Jeddah, because it seemed to be inappropriate for an encyclopedia. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page, or take a look at our guidelines about links. Thank you. —C.Fred (talk) 01:11, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
- Please remember that Wikipedia is an encyclopedia. It is not the place to advertise your blog. Further, since it's a help for students, you'd be better off posting it on a campus bulletin board, not on an international encyclopedia: the blog would not be of interest to the average reader. —C.Fred (talk) 01:17, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
- Also, there are guidelines on external links, and one of the types of links to be avoided is "11. Blogs, personal web pages and most fansites, except those written by a recognized authority." As you said yourself, you're a student; this does not make you a recognized authority on the subjects you tutor. Further, #13 on the list of links to be avoided is "Sites that are only indirectly related to the article's subject". The tutoring page is not about the school; it's about subjects taught at the school, so it's an indirect link.
- So, we welcome your contributions, but you're not free to edit with disregard for established rules. —C.Fred (talk) 01:27, 20 July 2013 (UTC)
