How to disable Commons cat on a page?

Hi, I was wondering if you knew of a way to prevent this to happen? :) While it made my day, I'm pretty sure it is not needed on this page ^^. Thanks a lot! -- lucasbfr talk 08:22, 24 April 2008 (UTC)

This is kind of difficult because at this wikipedia there isnt a clear distinction between "normal" categories and "service" categories. I manually scanned the list to remove these kinds of categories but i guess i missed this one. multichill (talk) 16:17, 24 April 2008 (UTC)
Can you also remove Category:Requested moves? Thanks. JPG-GR (talk) 00:19, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Category:Requests for unblock as well please. Kwsn-pub 02:42, 2 May 2008 (UTC)
Ok. I now found a way not to include service categories. Template:Wikipedia category seems to be created for these kind of categories. I will add this template to the ignore list. multichill (talk) 04:40, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

'Commons cat' is the same as 'commonscat'

Hello. It looks like you added {{Commons cat}} to a page that already had {{commonscat}}

See this diff and the version of the page after you added {{Commons cat}}

{{Commons cat}} is the same as {{commonscat}}

Also, there is no need to add the name of the category if they are the same on the commons and Wikipedia.

So {{Commons cat|Maps of the Hittite Empire}} is the same as {{Commons cat}} and {{commonscat}} --Timeshifter (talk) 08:44, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

I know it's the same, we just got a timing problem. I use a query to make a list of pages to add the template too. I did the query and started my bot. After that you added the template. multichill (talk) 10:44, 2 May 2008 (UTC)

Please do not add {{Commons cat|Wyre}} to Category:Wyre. The commons category is for an entirely different location to the English Wikipedia category. How does your bot work? If it simply links categories that have the same name, that is inappropriate behaviour and should be stopped. All links need to be checked by a human being for accuracy before proceeding. If your bot had the intelliegence to follow the links in each of the categories, it would see that the categories were unrelated. --Dr Greg (talk) 11:52, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

It actually follows the links and checks for redirect and disambiguation templates, but none where present. multichill (talk) 17:11, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

BotMultichill trying to be helpful at Category:Aviation templates, but...

...could you prevent it adding {{Commons cat|Aviation templates}}, please? There's already a {{cmbox}} there providing the link. Thanks. Sardanaphalus (talk) 10:48, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for your message. That isnt supposed to happen. The program includes an ignore list (see line 94) and Template:Template category (edit | talk | history | links | watch | logs) is on it. I think i know the source of the problem. It's either the t of Template category (usually uppercase) or it's the trailing whitespace. I'll look into it. multichill (talk) 18:43, 3 July 2008 (UTC)

Mutualism has many meanings

The "mutualism" category is dedicated to the economic theory and this bot keeps adding a link to an irrelevant wikicommons page. Please correct, maybe start a "Mutualism (Biology)" category? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.93.169.32 (talk) 22:30, 20 September 2008 (UTC)
