In summer 2000, I had met people with the Aboriginal Status Card north of Bancroft and they informed me that they had special fishing and hunting rights associated with the card, namely the right to hunt in Algonquin Provincial Park any time of the year. I can't seem to be able to very the present legal status of this card. Preserving these hunting and fishing rights seems to be an issue of concern - http://www.aboriginalstatus.org.
