″Hello. Thank you for interest in helping schedule the picture of the day. Unfortunately, we cannot use the picture of Winston Churchill on Template:POTD/2018-03-18. As per WP:Picture of the day, any pictures/video we show there must be taken from the list of WP:Featured pictures. The file you want to select, File:Winston Churchill As Prime Minister 1940-45 H10688.jpg, has not been promoted to Featured status. If you are interested in nominating that photo for Featured status, please read WP:Featured picture candidates/Nomination procedure for instructions. Good luck! howcheng {chat} 05:30, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. I suppose I should have been clearer. The reason we have John Calhoun on March 18 is because it's his birthday, so please leave him there. There are plenty of empty days that need pictures, though. You'll want to read WP:Picture of the day/Guidelines. You should also get in touch with User:Crisco 1492, who does most of the scheduling. Thanks. howcheng {chat} 15:36, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I do appreciate your enthusiasm, but I think you may want to slow down a bit before jumping into the deep end. For one thing, please don't replace any existing picture of the day selections. There are plenty of days in April 2018 that do not have anything scheduled yet. However, I think that if you are interested in pictures, you might want to start by getting involved at WP:Featured picture candidates. This is where we decide which pictures get promoted to Featured status. Start there and learn how things are done around here before you try and tackle POTD, which appears on the Main Page and is seen by millions of people. Wikipedia is a big place and there are a lot of rules, so you'll want to take your time in getting used to it. Happy editing! howcheng {chat} 17:26, 16 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • Precisely. A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Right now you're trying to make that single step take you from Tokyo to Los Angeles, and that just won't work. Start by learning the different processes on Wikipedia. If you are reverted, particularly on a main page-related page, there is usually a good reason. Rather than edit war, you should try and talk it out with the other editor.  — Chris Woodrich (talk) 01:34, 17 March 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again. You really need to slow down here. Please see this discussion about your actions in regards to your changes on the Featured List that appears in the Main Page. I really don't want to discourage you from editing, but you have to understand that you're causing quite a few problems right now, so before someone with less patience than me comes along and blocks you, please stop from doing anything that directly affects the Main Page (Today's featured article, Picture of the day, Today's featured list, Did you know, and Selected anniversaries).
